From A Fan of Harley's
"As I'm sure you all can tell, Harley has captured my heart, and if I had room, he would be here with me today. He's a 5 - 6 yr old Manx boy, so he has no tail! He's a friendly guy who just wants a lap to sit in so he doesn't have to fight for his life on the streets anymore. He was so thin when he arrived, and is gradually gaining some, but has a ways to go. He just needs some love, and three squares, and a roof. Can you please help him, and his friends in the Grayson shelter?"

PLEASE FORWARD AND CROSS-POST......
The Grayson County Humane Society/SPCA in Leitchfield, Kentucky has TRULY run out of space and time for the 80+ cats and kittens that are now there. Every cage in the cat room is full and cages now line the hallway. There are even four crates in the office and two in the bathroom.
THERE IS NOOOOO MORE ROOM AND THERE WILL BE NOOOOO MORE REPRIEVES!!!
PTS will begin on Monday (9/8), even though this shelter strives to be a no-kill shelter. Owner turn-ins that aren't vetted will now likely face immediate euthanization. Next will be stray cats that have passed their stray hold.
A transport is scheduled to the northeast on September 13th - the current route will be through PA, NJ, MA, and up to ME. The next transport will be September 20th to the Buffalo/Rochester, NY area.
Only $40 for a vetted and transported cat/kitten!!!!
Out-of-state adoptions are allowed.

Please take a minute to look at the individual photos of just some of these precious kitty critters that are posted below. You can see more photos and get additional information about each one of these furrpurrs by clicking on the "Click Here To Only See Our Cats" link on the Grayson County Humane Society/SPCA Petfinder web site at http://west.petfinder.com/shelters/KY103.html .
Some of the Grayson cats are sponsored, which means they're vetted and "free" to an approved rescue group. If you see a Grayson cat that you'd be interested in rescuing, but that isn't yet sponsored, please feel free to let Donna White, a volunteer at the shelter ( dwhite@aggressiveonline.net ) or myself ( schwender@aol.com ) know and we'll certainly see what we can do to get some of the Grayson supporters to sponsor the cat/kitten you're inquiring about. We'd love to help great rescues be able to save a Grayson cat every once in a while.
If you can rescue or adopt any of these fabulous felines or if you have questions about any of the cats that are listed, please contact the shelter volunteers at dwhite@aggressiveonline.net or call 270-230-8839. If you don't have room in your rescue group or loving home for a cat, but if you know of someone who does, please - PRETTY KITTY PLEASE - forward this message on to them ASAP.
Please don't let distance prevent you from rescuing or adopting any of the Grayson cats (or dogs). The Grayson County Humane Society has an incredibly dedicated group of volunteers who not only donate their time and energy to transport these furry angels, but whom also pay for such life-saving journeys out of their own pocket (although a donation towards gas is always appreciated).
All animals adopted from Grayson will be altered before placement and will receive their shots and a worming. Out-of-state adoptions are allowed. Adoption fees for cats and kittens have now been reduced to only $40 - that's a HUGE bargain these days for a fully-vetted pet.
Whatever kind of help that you can provide to this wonderful group of volunteers that are working SO VERY HARD to improve things for the pets in their county and in their care is VERY much appreciated -- by them, as well as the many cats and dogs in such need.
We realize that we can't save them all, nor do we expect you to save every one of them. We simply thank each and every one of you for ALL that you do for the furry angels of this world and we look forward to possibly working with you in the future.
Sincerely,
Donna Schwender
