Is it true that hounds are dumped in shelters and dropped off in wooded areas (after hunting season) in areas where there are a lot of hunters ? I read this on an Internet dog forum. If it is true why is this allowed? There a gazillion hounds in shelters in N.C., Georgia and other states and many dogs are roaming around as strays. If their owners dump them shouldn't these people be held accountable and not cause other people to have to rescue the dogs they abandoned? If this is true these owner's actions are one of the reasons the shelters are overcrowded.
