Thank you all so much for caring about our sweet Honey. This is one Momma dog that grabbed the hearts of many &I wanted to take a moment to share some great news! (As well as a much asked about link. )

First, Honey will indeed be adopted & thanks to a resuce group called Mutt Maddness, she will be completely vetted as well as treated for Heartworms. (Once she recovers from her spay & is re-evaluated their vet.) If all works out as planned, Honey will be traveling HOME this Friday. She will be reunited with the very family that cared enough about Honey & her pups to contact our shelter & then Mutt Maddness for help. Thanks to this rescue group, Honey will now finally know the love of a family!

Now many of you asked about Honey's status & how you could donate to the wonderful rescue group helping her. Below is the link they provided.

Thank you in advance for assisting Mutt Maddness with Honey's care.

Feel free to cross post & share with others that have been keeping up with Honey's story.

Thank you!! Thank you!!!!!

"Posted: Thu Jul 29, 2010 6:59 am    Post subject: Honey has lived at least the last year of her life as a stray, neglected; turned out by her owner. She was unaltered ; left to fend for herself. The locals tell us that poor Honey was constantly pregnant and having large litters of puppies. People would take Honey's puppies, but no one ever took Honey. She was left to regularly cross a busy highway, searching for food; love. Finally Honey lucked out. She had her last litter of puppies at a local hotel. The kind people there, as well as the many quests, all rallied around Honey; her little ones. They fed, watered & loved on them all. One by one, Honey's puppies again were heading home with their new families... but still, no one wanted Honey. Then a family that stayed at the hotel seen Honey &; her 3 remaining puppies & just couldn't bare to leave them there. The good Samaritan called every rescue group she could find, but no one wanted to help this family. Then our shelter was called. We made room for Honey & her little ones. Her babies have all been rescued... but as so many times before... Honey is left alone  with out a home of her own. She is now in our kill shelter just waiting for "her turn" in life. She's been a great Mom, now all she wants to be is your best friend. Honey has had a pretty rough life. Her front teeth are worn down, she might have a cataract or an eye injury of some kind, and we do believe that she has Heartworms. But despite all that, you couldn't meet a sweeter gal. She's older & very mellow. Honey would love a laid back family where she could enjoy life at a slower pace. No more dodging cars on busy highways, or keeping up with puppies. She's ready to be "loved"!

Posted Thu Jul 29, 2010 9:51 . She is still in our shelter  does not have any applications in on her behalf. Honey is very sweet loving, but due to her age possible medical concerns, she will be over looked by most for younger, healthier doggies. (Sadly, our shelter is maxed out again.)
