1/03/10 I want to add dogs and cats to this Joseph Campbell quote.

WORD FOR THE DAY

Saturday, Jan. 2
When before the beauty of a sunset or a mountain, you pause and exclaim, "Ah," you are participating in divinity.

Shelters and pounds can be sad places. If people could only see the worth of each and every dog and cat, then shelters could be true shelters where each animal is given a chance at finding a new home no matter how long it takes. There would be no euth dates because sustaining life would be the goal. Many of us have lost our sense of gratitude for life and the wonder of each breath we take. We can get this back. We can re-create our world. I think music needs to be played in shelters. We need to stop seeing shelters as places of hopelessness.Give everyone 2 or 4 footed hope and gratitude. Change the vibration, change our consciousness for the New Year. Please believe in the power of constructive action and people joining together to help each other, animals and our planet

There are shelters striving to be No Kill. Shelby County Animal Shelter in Kentucky is one. They have a new website to promote their No-Kill vision. They are working with other groups to this end. They believe in Nathan Winograd's No Kill Solution. For those who say it is only dream I say our dreams have power and can become reality if we believe and take right action. We are inventors of our world. Who thought in the 1800s that computer would exist? Anything is possible in this world. That includes no more killing of shelter pets.
