1/28/14 Videos of Well Fed Shelter Dogs and Cats Helped by RESCUE BANK-The National Pet Food Distribution Program for Animal Rescue Groups and Organizations. You CAN BE Part of the Solution to Find Homeless Cats and Dogs Homes.

This week I have decided to post organizations that help shelter animals by donating food to shelters or to rescues so the rescues can  pull more animals from shelters and give them another chance at a  safe, healthy life with owners who  love and value them. Also I want to post some  rescues and shelters.

Here is the link to  Rescue Bank with videos of  some of the animals they've helped. If you are  prone  to tears,  these videos might do it. You see the animals  nurtured and cared for and FED and see how they blossom. Isn't that what rescue and shelters need to be about, giving  the animals a safe place to stay while waiting for adoption, helping the dogs and cats be the best they can be ( health and behaviour wise),  doing all they can to find them homes? This does cost money so organizations like Rescue Bank are important to support. Sometimes  the ability of a rescue or shelter  to  provide food for a dog or cat allows  animals who are sick or old or hard to adopt more time to get to safety instead  of euthanization.

"Nutritious pet food is donated when it is nearing the ‘best buy’ date, has minor packaging defects or is being re-branded. Animal rescue groups use the savings from their food budget for more spay/neuter and vet services – increasing adoptions of healthier pets.
Rescue Bank® operates on the national food bank model, accepting food donations from any manufacturer, distributor or retailer. Suppliers such as Pedigree, Nutro, Royal Canin, Purina, DelMonte, Wellness and PupChips notify us that product is available.
Rescue Bank® schedules and pays for the freight to deliver the donation to a regional distribution center where it is picked up by pre-qualified non-profit groups.
With millions of pets in need throughout the country, Rescue Bank® is a reliable partner for converting excess product into goodwill for the donor.
Rescue Bank® is a valued partner for both suppliers and the animal rescue and foster organizations across America."

1/28/14 Dogs and Cats Needing Homes in Charleston West Virginia- National Humane Ed Society. Please Help These Dogs and Cats Find Their Forever Homes. Videos of Dogs and Cats in Need of Your Love and Care.

The  National Humane Ed Society is a great organization. The more animals adopted from them, the more they can save who are in kill shelters or other life threatening or abandonment  situations.  Please look at the videos of the great animal that need homes. These videos were posted in November, Not sure all the animals in the videos  are still available.  I think they keep adding pictures of new dogs and cats looking for loving homes. Give them a call if you see your new best friend.
Please help  all the wonderful  dogs and cats find their forever homes. They do shelter other animals. Check the birds out!

1/20/14 COWETA GEORGIA..IMO It is not the right thing to kill homeless shelter animals. The "right" thing is for ALL OF US to TREAT ALL Shelter Animals with the Same Respect, Love and Care We Do Our Own Pets. Just Because WE CAN Euthanize them ( Which is Killing them. This is NOT EUTHANIZING- LOOK up that word in the dictionary to see what it really means). It is a Societal Problem WE MUST DEAL WITH DIFFERENTLY. "Another dog, Roscoe, euthanized without notice! He had been someone's pet...even microchipped...and now his young life has been cut short. Every dog here must be considered urgent as we are no longer given notice on them." Is this Coweta's New Policy? Kill Everything.

Please don't wait...if you can help just one, contact me immediately! None are safe until they are out the front door. Thanks!! Gail 917-873-7408 newsweeq@aol.com...

If you're thinking of re-homing or giving up your animal, please
take intoconsideration the amount of homeless and abandoned
animals there
currently are & seek out ways to get help via an
animaltrainer/behaviorist. Many rescues & shelters are full to
capacity with
companion animals looking for a place to call their own.

1/11/13 Neglected Shepherd Mix Needs Rescue "As a shelter volunteer, one of the saddest aspects of my work is seeing an animal whose spirit has been broken. Irene is such a dog and this is her story"- Williamson County Animal Control 106 Claude Yates Drive, Franklin, TN:

 THIS IS A CROSSPOST

Franklin, TN-Neglected Shepherd Mix Needs Rescue

"As a shelter volunteer, one of the saddest aspects of my work is seeing an animal whose spirit has been broken. Irene is such a dog and this is her story:

Irene is a lovely Shepherd mix who is three years old. She is a shy dog who is learning to respond to attention and affection. Irene is a well-mannered walking companion and is housebroken. She will sit on command, too. Irene loves to play in the shelter yard. We spend time a lot of time simply sitting quietly by her side and petting her beautiful coat. Irene needs a family who will be patient and work to socialize her. She has the potential to be a loving and devoted companion. Irene has made so much progress with the love, care and encouragement of the volunteers who care for her every day. We think Irene may have been neglected or mistreated, and it has been so gratifying to see her learn to trust people and become more confident. All of us have come to love this truly special girl.

Irene is spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative, wormed and current on all vaccinations.

Irene is such a special dog and we are reaching out to the rescue community to help place her. Please crosspost widely on her behalf and contact me at kmenzyk@yahoo.

1/5/14" Needs Licensed Rescue- Neena facing death at HCACC McDonough GA. Neena is awesome, she is pathetic, skinny sores all over, maybe 5 to 6 months old, 25 pounds at the most. She LOVES everyone and is a perfect little lady. She is so sad, she sits hunched over in her kennel and does not even bother to look up at visitors anymore, she has given up hope. Neena will be euthanized if licensed rescue cannot save her." Is this HOW WE SHOW COMPASSION TO A HELPLESS PUPPY? Just Because this dog is a pit bull puppy we let this loving dog loose hope and be euthanized? Please If You are A Rescue ( I don't know if it is too LATE) Help This Dog. I am not sure if they will adopt to public.

I don't post Pitbulls often anymore because they never get rescued and
everyone harasses me to no end. I post the exceptional dog now and then.
Neena is awesome, she is pathetic, skinny sores all over, maybe 5 to 6
months old, 25 pounds at the most. She LOVES everyone and is a
perfect little lady.

She is so sad, she sits hunched over in her kennel and does not even bother
to look up at visitors anymore, she has given up hope.

Neena will be euthanized if licensed rescue cannot save her.
Time is short. Please contact me ASAP if you can save her life.
