This is certainly the moment of truth for the onsite volunteers and their many supporters in the community and online. A year ago, some of the rescues were able to come through in a major way, and the crisis was narrowly averted. That was then, and this is now. Unless there is a significant request for cats by rescues, some will die, and its a simple as that. I have personally met many of these cats, so I will be devastated as well. It would be like a cherished and healthy family pet being PTS, only many times over.

Quicksilver and KarmaIs have covered all the bases. If you rescue people out there could each rescue or offer to foster only a few cats or kittens, the day will be saved. Please do what you can

These are my feelings about what happens in open admission shelters because of irresponsible people ( those who do not take care of their pets and allow them to continually reproduce).
I am always amazed at how little the collective "we" understand that cats are not disposable. We are nation that says we love animals yet many of us will not be responsible for our pets. Well for all of you who did not care to spay or neuter your cat or decided you didn't want "it" anymore, places like Grayson pick up where you left off and love these cats and give them medical care and unfortunately after they love them and help them a day like this sometimes comes. Remember the
preciousness of all life. Please take a look the cats and kittens in danger. They are not disposable. This wonderful volunteer run shelter NEEDS Your HELP. The CATS NEED your HELP. Please if you are a rescue taking one or two kitties will help and if you wish to adopt please contact the shelter or go there. It is hard times for all shelters and rescues
. Many of this cats are sponsored and FREE TO RESCUE (see rescue requirements and agreement on Grayson's website. Link is below).

The situation at Grayson is again urgent. There is just no more room. We have tried and tried to gain rescue interest for Grayson's cats, but everyone is so full that we are not having success. Please, everyone, crosspost, sponsor, foster, adopt - help in any way you can!

Sadly, some of the cats I posted pics of here in July are still at the shelter. You can see all available animals here:

http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/KY103.html

There are many cats that are fully sponsored, which makes them free to rescues. Transport can be arranged, so if you need it, please ask. If you see a cat you would like to rescue that is not sponsored, please ask about that, too, and we will do what we can.

Thank you for any help you can provide.

Here are some of the babies in danger:

Mensah

Maeve

Pippi

Pout

Magnificat

Mystery

Evelene

Gibson

And so many, many more. You can see them all here:
