Scared Can Mean Sensitive and Wonderfully Affectionate

I fostered a cat who had the same expression and body language. With the cat I knew it was from trauma and depression. Within a few months given attention, love and proper food, he became a lover boy. He was a sensitive cat who had been treated badly before being dumped at the vets to be euthanized. Now this guy might be angry. Who can blame him? I don't know if he was abandoned and was a stray or was dumped by his owner. Here he is facing a horrible death in the gas chamber. What did he do to deserve this? Please save him.
