I know this awful to hear. I hate to be so direct but it is the reality. Every dog you see in these pictures will be dead except lucky Lenny unless they are rescued or adopted. It is a sad fact. Please save a life.

Ok, rescuers and adoptees…..the ACO at the Shelby County Animal Shelter has had NO CHOICE but to put a DIE DATE on the following dogs!!! This is IT for these SWEET BABIES….unless someone comes forward. The shelter had a MASS AMOUNT of animals enter its shelter this past weekend. This pushes these dogs to the euthanasia line!!!!!!!! PLEASE HELP them!!!!!!! Alex has a SPONSOR!! The shelter does not charge a pull fee for reputable rescues!!! PLEASE CALL THE SHELTER ASAP to help these dogs…there is NO TIME FOR E MAILS!!!! 502-633-0009.

Poor little Junior. His family brought him to the shelter when he was caught without having rabies vaccination. I guess he was not worth the fee to them. Well he is worth it and deserves better. He is a timid boy that needs a family that will love him and let him know he is worth a million.

Junior is going to be a big guy. He is full of energy and life. Don't let that end. We must have a firm commitment of rescue by a reputable rescue group and promise of transport for Junior by 7/23.

Lenny and Lee were brought in together as strays. They were found at a popular "dumping" spot on a very rural road in our county. The nice family that found them took care of them until Animal Control could arrive. These boys are both very well behaved and need new homes where they will feel that "forever" kind of love.

Lee and Lenny came in together and love each other. Although they are great togther, they do not have to be adopted or rescued together. We must have a firm commitment of rescue by a reputable rescue group and promise of transport no later then 7/23.

Sparky and Lucky were surrendered to the shelter by their owner when they had to move and could not bring the boys along. Both of these boys are great dogs with lots of love and energy to share. Please help Sparky and Lucky have his new FOREVER home. These two typical terriers need out of the shelter ASAP. They are great when they are not kenneled and need to be seen in a more positive light then behind bars. Poor guy being a black lab has slimmer chances of finding his forever home. He is a great guy and just needs a chance to prove he will make a wonderful addition to your family. Please consider Kobe when you are looking to add on. This handsome young dog did not plan to be at the shelter and he sure does not want to make his last days in one. She was brought to our shelter as a stray but we have reason to believe she actually belonged to the person surrendering her to us. After she came in we received a call to tell us that Daisy Mae is spayed, 2-3 years old and up to date on her shots....hmmmmm. Daisy is a great girl. She seems to like women better then men but she is O.K. She is a very happy girl right now. I am not sure she even knows she is in the shelter. I hope she can find a family before she realizes her others are not coming back. Setting dates on hard decisions is not what any shelter wants to do. I have no choice but to only give this sweet girl till 7/23 to have a firm commitment of rescue by a reputable rescue and a promise of transport. We must have a promise of transport. What a face. Who can pass on eyes like that. Sam is a sweet boy that came in as a stray. He was never claimed and now he needs a home of his own.
