URGENT NOOK- 6 Years Young

"Nook came into the shelter 2/28/09. She has been at the shelter before. Her first owner was moving and could not take her. Her second home lasted about nine months and the owner became ill and could no longer care for her. Now Nook is needing a new place to live. She is six years old, spayed and house trained. She has lived indoors. She does well with children and other dogs. She does not mind cats. Nook is about 150 to 175 pounds. Please help Nook find a forever home. The shelter is over flowing with dogs and Nook does not have much time left."

The Nicholas County Animal Shelter is in desperate need in help placing dogs. We have taken in 71 dogs in 12 days. We only have a 21 run facility. We are trying to keep 50 to 60 dogs depending on their size. We are having to euthanasia almost daily. Some of the dogs we have came from a hoarder. She had 70 dogs in a small barn. We are seeing a lot of mother dogs with puppies and a lot of owner surrender. We have a pets listed on www.petfinder.com
One of the dogs we have is Maggie a Norwegian Elkhound, she is about a year old. Her paw was caught in a steel trap and she lost her toes. She is being treated. Maggie is a loving girl. All she wants to do is to please.
