UPDATE.So Many Adoptable Cats and Dogs. I CAN SEE THEM ALL IN LOVING HOMES Winder Georgia

The original links from this post did not work. I have updated with the link to the Barrows website. I will leave the pictures of the cats and dogs up from the original post . I don't know what happened to them.
I can't find any online pictures of animals from this shelter. On the Barrows website there is a link called Urgent Animal SOS. If you want to be notified of urgent animals and other animals needing help at this shelter that is the group to join.

We gladly release animals at no cost to any rescue licensed by the GA Dept of Agriculture. Please provide a copy of your license for our file.

Out-of-state rescues, please contact the shelter for details.
Local adopters stop by and meet your new love.

WHAT ANIMALS ARE AVAILABLE NOW?
NOTE: Pictures FOLLOW the descriptions!

THE FOLLOWING ANIMALS WERE INCLUDED ON LAST WEEK’S POSTING AND ARE “EXTRA URGENT” DUE TO BEING AT ANIMAL CONTROL AT OR BEYOND THEIR TYPICALLY ALLOTTED FIVE (5) DAYS AND/OR ARE OWNER SURRENDERED. THEY ARE THEREFORE SUBJECT TO LETHAL INJECTION AT ANY TIME.

RUN 7 – 07-253 F 1YR BLACK HUSKY / SHEPHERD X – This sweet lady’s time is UP! I enjoyed visiting with her again today. She really does look like a rather petite, all-black husky to me, and even her mannerisms reminded me so much of my own husky girl we rescued over two years ago. She’s so light on her feet and agile! She’s also very alert and directs those pointy, upright ears to take in everything. What a rare beauty! Don’t miss this one!

PEN 3 – 07-303 F 2YR DSH TUXEDO – I believe this lady is the same one from last time that didn’t have paperwork yet. She is PREGNANT and needs help now! She’s beautiful, isn’t she? Take a look.

PEN 13 – 07-252 M 2-3YR DSH GRAY – Even though this soft, handsome boy was at the shelter last time, he did not become available for adoption until 7/31. His time is now ticking! Please consider this sweetie, and remember to have a look at ALL the cats later in the list, as BCAC currently has no feline rescues in partnership. Sadly, the majority of cats do not make it out.

THE FOLLOWING ANIMALS ARE NEW SINCE THE LAST POST BUT MAY STILL BE “EXTRA URGENT” DUE TO THEIR BEING AT THE ANIMAL CONTROL AT OR BEYOND THEIR TYPICALLY ALLOTTED FIVE (5) DAYS AND/OR ARE OWNER SURRENDERED. SUCH ANIMALS ARE THEREFORE SUBJECT TO LETHAL INJECTION AT ANY TIME.

RUN 1 – FIVE M 8WK BOXER / SHEPHERD X PUPS – 07-276 yellow, 07-277 tan with bold black muzzle, 07-278 brown with black muzzle and white feet, 07-279 black and brown with white feet and chest, and 07-280 brown with black – An officer said, “I love these puppies—too cute with their bat ears!” They are indeed adorable! Don’t miss the one sleeping in the doorway.

RUN 2 – FOUR 10WK LAB / BOXER X PUPS – 08-005 M white and brown, 08-006 F white and brown, 08-007 (gender?) white and black, 08-008 (gender?) white and black – Beautiful markings on these sweet pups!

RUN 3 – 07-266 M 2YR TAN PIT X – This gentleman with his dark face is quite handsome. His eyes appear very kind and friendly, don’t they?

RUN 4 – 07-322 F 6WK HOUND X – NOTE: There are three pups in this run, but ONLY the tan, short coated pup is available. What a smile on this little girl! She is the pup closest to the camera.

RUN 5 – 07-285 and 07-286 BOTH F 4-5MO BLACK/WHITE HOUND X – These ladies were taking it easy in the shade today. Look at those stunning markings! Beautiful!

RUN 6 – ONE ROTTWEILER X PUP and FOUR LAB / HOUND X PUPS; ALL 8-10WK – 07-310 F black and white, 07-311 F brown, 07-312 F brown, 07-313 (gender?) brown, and 07-321 M black and brown (the Rottie) – These little ones seemed very playful and friendly. Check out the one snoozing away in the door. That spot must be the coolest available. I’ve seen several pups racked out there.

RUN 8 – 07-325 F 2YR GRAY/WHITE PIT – What a beautiful girl! I believe I woke her from napping. Check out that cool white stripe on her nose. She really needs some love.

RUN 9 – 07-320 F 4YR YELLOW/WHITE LAB X – EXTRA URGENT!!! “Roxy” has been surrendered by her owner and is therefore subject to lethal injection at any time, especially if space at the shelter gets too tight. While I was there today, I didn’t see any extra runs, so hopefully someone will step forward immediately to take this sweet girl home. She is very friendly, and gives great kisses. Look at that huge smile!

RUN 10 – 07-296 M 3YR GRAY/WHITE PIT X – An officer calls this handsome boy “very sweet,” and I agree! He is very gentle and quiet. In fact he didn’t make a peep until I stood to leave. Then he started to cry in soft whimpers, his deep, wet eyes fixed on mine. Somebody needs to love this dog.

RUN 11 – 07-261 F 5+YR WHITE GREAT PYRENEES X – What a kind, gentle, happy girl! An officer assigns “Big Love” to her! She sure seems ready to get started filling up someone’s life and heart with that love. Maybe yours?

RUN 12 – 08-010 F 9MO BLACK/TAN GERMAN SHEPHERD – black and tan – AND 08-011 F 9MO TAN SHEPHERD / SHARPEI X – These two girlies appear to get along exceptionally well. At one point, they were even giving each other smooches on the cheeks. Both are gentle, quiet, graceful, and calm. Both are also beautiful and ready to go home!

PEN 37 – 07-295 M 6-8WK BLACK/WHITE LAB X – This little boy really tugged at my heart today. Some people might say, why? It’s just another black lab pup. They’re a dime a dozen around here. Yes, maybe so. But maybe it was those pleading eyes? The little soft kisses? The outstretched paw of friendship? The crying that hushed as I came near? The happy tail drumming against the pen wall? Anyone visiting this little pup will truly be in the presence of something special. Why not stop by to see for yourself?

CATS!!! CATS!!! CATS!!!
THE OFFICERS ARE VERY INTERESTED IN PARTNERING WITH A FELINE RESCUE AS BCAC CURRENTLY HAS NO RESCUES WHO PULL CATS. THE MAJORITY OF CATS NEVER LEAVE THE FACILITY ALIVE. PLEASE CONSIDER HELPING ONE OR MORE OF THESE PRECIOUS LITTLE ONES. THANKS!

PEN 1 – TINY KITTENS – These kittens were placed in the pen while I was there. No paperwork is available, so please contact the shelter for more information. They are very young and cute!

PEN 2 – 07-286 F 4-5MO DMH GRAY – This fuzz ball is ready to play! I woke her up from a nap, but she sprang from her box, purring loudly, and rubbed all over the door of the pen. She apparently didn’t mind the interruption.

PEN 4 – 07-290 F 2YR DSH TIGER – This sweet, pretty lady is also PREGNANT and needs help. Rescues and others, take note!

PEN 9 – ONE MOM and THREE 5WK BLACK/WHITE KITTENS – 07-316 (mom) F 1YR DSH black and white, 07-317 F 5WK DSH, 07-318 M 5WK DSH, 07-319 M 5WK DSH – Looking at these kitties reminded me of the children’s story “The Three Little Kittens.” They’re adorable. Hopefully, they won’t be losing more than their mittens pretty soon. Please help!

PEN 11 – 07-274 F 4MO DSH WHITE – This lovely solid white lady sports beautiful BLUE EYES. You may have heard people talk about blue-eyed white cats being deaf, so I tried getting her attention by whistling, tapping the cage, etc., and she seemed to have all the typical responses. I’d be surprised if she’s deaf. I also be even more surprised if she weren’t sweet. She seems extremely sweet.

PEN 12 – 07-314 M 6-8WK DSH TIGER – Here’s a very cute and VERY FUNNY little boy for you. Yes, he’s a brown tiger, but he has lovely symmetrical white gloves and boots. He has rather large ears and eyes which create some comical expressions. Apparently quite the acrobat, he climbed up on his water bowl to say hello (see pic) but then accidently stepped in the water, which startled him and made him jump so high he hit the ceiling of his pen. I laughed pretty hard at this clown. What a sweet little guy. Please help him get out.

PEN 17 – 07-281 F 4MO DMH BROWN TABBY AND 07-282 M 4MO DMH ORANGE TABBY – These two are both very pretty kitties. They seem to get along well together and are quiet and calm.

PEN 18 – no paperwork – M ADULT GRAY/BROWN TABBY – Please contact the shelter for more information about this one. He has some type of wound on his left shoulder but seems extremely friendly and sweet.

PEN 19 – 07-275 M 4MO DSH TABBY – This is a sweet boy whose proportions and markings are interesting. He looks more spotted than striped, and maybe it was just my perspective, but his legs seemed a bit shorter that what might be typical. Cool cat.
