Medium Young Male Cat Pet ID: 087922
RESCUED or ADOPTED NOT SURE WHICH BUT GEEKED IS SAFE

Will be killed by heartstick if not rescued or adopted - Death date Dec 31

I was turned in by my owner, she said that she didn't have time for me. I am a real sweet boy and very playful. I am available for adoption now and will have until 12-31-08 to be adopted.
So the owner had no time for the cat and the shelter took the cat and if no one comes for the the cat, the cat is heartsticked to death and the owner is NOT HELD ACCOUNTBLE. and the TAXPAYERS are paying to allow the irresponsible owner to be an accessory to murder.

It is hard to post the pictures of so many adoptable animals and know many will be killed. Anyone who cares and is SANE because all this killing as a solution to the homeless pet problem is INSANE needs to become advocates for the animals. Look at all the dogs and cats who will be killed and tell me mandatory spay and neuter is not need. I heard 60 animals were heartsticked at this pound today. Who can heartstick 6o dog and cats in one day? It is horrific. What does this do to the people who do the killing? People can say this has to be done. These people have no vision and honestly must not care because if they did they would find a way to stop the killing. Shelters use words like this animal will not be available after such and such a date. The truth is the animal will be killed. And the shelter knows that is wrong and wants to soften the word kill. And the owners who have no time for their pets are all freed of responsibility. Is there something wrong with this picture?

In the community where I live the shelter stops accepting animal surrenders when the shelter is full. People have to keep the animals until the shelter has room. I think state run shelters need to do this and MAKE OWNERS TAKE RESPONSIBILITY unless the circumstances are dire. But not having time for a pet around Christmas or anytime as a reason to dump your pet at a kill shelter is BS.
