LIBERTY COUNTY ANIMAL CONTROL – HINESVILLE, GEORGIA

If you would like to adopt one of the animals below, please contact

Jen at nipponia_gurl@yahoo.com

There is a line between nipponia and gurl that is not showing up* see correct e-mail at end of post

I have personally interacted with each one of these animals. My descriptions are straight forward! My conscience would not allow me to hold anything back, and I would never give false information to save an animal, because it would only result in it being returned. You will never find vicious/dangerous animals on my listings! Usually, little or none is known about these dogs' medical history. We do know that a majority of them were abandoned by military, which means they are most likely up-to-date on their shots, heartworm negative, and generally healthy; however, we cannot guarantee that, which is why each dog must receive prompt veterinary care after adoption/rescue takes place.

Spaying or neutering by 6 months of age is a MUST!!! There is a low cost option for local adopters, just ask about our vouchers! You can also get more detailed information and pricing by visiting SNAC (Spay/Neuter Alliance Clinic) at info@snac1.com or by calling

843-645-2500.

Your help with adopting, rescuing, or fostering these animals is immensely appreciated, as is your help with cross posting to others who may be able to help save a life.

Buster, the Boxer/Bully Mix!

Buster is a very handsome dog. He is about 1-2 years old and is one of the sweetest dogs I have ever met. In fact, he is the cause of many tears I shed this past Saturday. You see, we took him to an adoption event along with other dogs but the location was such that hardly any adopters showed up and we had to return most of the dogs and cats to Animal Control at the end of the day. When I returned Buster to his cell he clung to me like a baby clings to its mother. He buried his head in my lap and when I put his paws on my legs he lay his head on my shoulder. He is very, very submissive and is a people lover. He has pricked ears that stand straight up most of the time but I had a tough time getting a picture of them standing erect. Every time he saw me coming with the camera he would take on a very submissive position and part of that is keeping your ears low. He has very warm, chestnut eyes that plead for love. In the pictures you can see his coat transitioning. He appears to be loosing his summer coat. The cream colored spots will fade away eventually. PLEASE give this boy a second and third look if you are considering a new family member. You will not regret inviting him into your home and heart.

Sherman, the Shepherd/Hound mix!

Sherman is the epitome of a family dog. He lets little kids crawl all over him, pull his ears and lie down with him. He is a big boy and needs to have some room to romp though he is more on the calm side. His coat is soft like cotton and has unusual marking. We see Shepherd and Hound in him but not knowing where he came from it’s hard to guess what his family tree entails. At any rate, he is a very handsome boy and not to be overlooked. If you are looking for a very family friendly dog than take a closer look at Sherman. You will not regret that you did. He is a younger dog about 2 years old. Sherman is good with other dogs; oh, and did I mention that he has the cutest under bite! Please save his life!

Cleveland, the Bulldog/Rotty Mix!

Cleveland is a big boy and he doesn’t look as if he is finished growing just yet! Cleveland came into a high kill facility after being seen around a neighborhood loose for a few weeks. He is probably another victim of his family moving away and leaving the animal behind. I had an adoption event the day Cleveland came in and took him out for people to see him as well.. He was around little kids and he was fine with them. He only jumped up on them begging for attention and of course with his size and there balance they got knocked over. While he was out we were also debating what he could be and with his body and coloring we think American bulldog and with his head and especially his profile we think rotty. Cleveland is about 60-70 pounds right now. Cleveland is okay with other dogs, but is an alpha male! Please save his life! The pictures do no justice for him!

Save Jerry!

Jerry is about 6 months old and needs a home fast! He is great with other dogs and is still a puppy himself. He needs a new place to call home before it’s too late! Jerry is a Terrier mix! Just look at that face and tell me that you can refuse him a safe and happy home. He is such a cute little ham and is so good with other dogs. He needs to get out of there before it’s too late. Jerry will not grow into a large dog; he will be medium size at best. His little whiskers tickle you when you give him kisses and his eyes show his confusion and loneliness – just have a look. This little boy is lost without you…

Pip and Pap, the tiny Terrier siblings! (Getting depressed...)

Pip and Pap are siblings that have already had a rough start in life. The kennel tech at Animal Control told us that she was in the back, washing cat bowls when she heard one of the dogs in the office cages bark. She went to see what the commotion was about and found these 2 little babies running around the office. Someone had literally just opened the door, shoved them in, and left. Pip and Pap looked as clean as a whistle, not a flea to be found on them, and obviously used to humans. Pip is the female with the white coat and Pap is the tri-colored one. They are very tiny and have some growing to do but judging by the size of their small paws they will not grow to be larger than medium at best. Since they are so close to one another and love to sleep together, it would be wonderful to place them together but of course that is just wishful thinking

Save Ramsey, the Rhodesian mix!

Heartworm PositiveL. Ramsey has a super sweet personality and is only medium in size, I guess that’s what caught the eye of the no kill shelter, but when he tested positive for heartworms he was place backed on death row. He is a bit skinny and could definitely stand to gain a few pounds. Though it seems that food is not the first item on his agenda; I believe that would be petting first, kissing second, hugging third, and maybe food somewhere down the line. Ramsey has a gorgeous fawn colored coat with no hair-loss, scars or scabs. His eyes are like warm amber glinting in the sunlight. He appears to be a young dog between 1 and 2 years old. Ramsey is good with other dogs and great with kids. He never once jumped up on my little boy! Please don’t sentence him to death because he is heartworm positive.

Cher, the Blue Tick Hound!

Cher is way too beautiful and even tempered to be on death row. She is a medium sized dog weighing about 40 pounds. Cher was found with a little Chihuahua mix that was adopted very fast but this left poor Cher by all by herself. Cher is perfect with all other dogs. She just sits right down in front of them. She really needs to be saved today before she is killed!

Scotch, the Hound Mix!

Scotch the hound mix will stick to your side like scotch tape. He is PERFECT with other dogs and has the cutest facial expressions. He loves to run and play in the field in fact he looks like a little deer jumping in the air. He is leash trained and he was fine with my little boy. He however is not so nice to kitty cats. Scotch is about 9 months old and already weighs about 45 pounds. I don’t think he will get much bigger since his body seems to be evenly proportioned. He has a beautiful coat and big eyes that beg for his life to be saved!

Zaden, the Dobbie/ Hound Mix!

Zaden is a little big guy about 14-16 weeks old. He has already been traumatized; poor Zaden was hit by a car. He was rolled and limping for a day or two but walks and runs like nothing ever happened. He is such a sweet puppy with a Doberman look to him. He has natural ears and a docked tail. Zaden walks without a leash and he is crate trained. He is fine with cats and kids. Zaden loves his belly rubbed. Please save his life!

Chanel,the sweet Black Lab!

Chanel has the best personality. She is super sweet and just wants to sit in your lap to be loved on. She is good with other dogs and doesn’t seem to mind cats. She is about a year old and doesn’t deserve to be sentenced to death. Please save her life, you won’t regret giving her a chance just look at the pictures or better yet, come by and meet this sweet litte black beauty.

Prada, the Dobbie/Hound mix!

Prada looks like she could be related to Zaden, but the two were found on different ends of the county. Prada is about 14 weeks herself with a docked tail. She is a sweet girl good with other dogs and cats. She needs her life to be saved.

Henry, the Dobbie/Hound!

This week seems to be the week for black and tan dogs and Henry looks like he could be the father to Zaden and Chanel, but I really hope none of them are overlooked especially this sweet guy. Henry is about 4 years old and is a larger dog with a very gentle spirit. He came in with a collar with a tag on it but half of the information is missing. He is such a sweet boy. He is good with other dogs and was PERFECT with my little boy. When I let Henry in the yard, all he did was follow my little boy around. It was as if there was an invisible leash around his neck. He never once pushed him down. There were some other dogs on the other side of the fence that did not sound so nice and Henry tried to keep my baby from going over in that direction. He is such a sweet boy and already has a hold on my heart. I know he has done nothing wrong to deserve this life. He doesn’t deserve to be killed, PLEASE someone say you will save him.

Curtis, the Pitty Mix!

Curtis came in and it is apparent he has missed a few meals. He is about a year old and has a beautiful cream colored coat with big brown eyes and a long tail. Curtis walks pretty well on a leash. Curtis needs to be an only dog home because it is apparent he has never been properly socialized with others of his kind. He is very dominating but this can be worked with. Curtis needs a good home to go to please come by and meet this handsome boy!

Niko, the Doberman!

Niko the Doberman is currently in a foster home because animal control was just way too scary for him. He would sit and tremble in his cage. He still needs a forever home to go to. If you’re interested in him just send an email! He is about 9 months old and has natural ears and tail.

The Cats and Kittens on Death row, if you can’t save there life please sponsor them!

Euthanasia Date Ausgust 4, 2009

Feisty the grey tabby

Sponsored! Little Feisty came in to animal control and boy was she a little feisty thing. Hints the name! She has since calmed down and has a purr box like no other kitten! She is still a little shy but she enjoys the touch of a human hand! Feisty is about 4 months old. Please save her life all she needs is a place to call her own!

Save Gusto!

Gusto is a little dusty looking and if he was a bigger cat I would think he was a senior guy. He is so very sweet though! He is only about 8 weeks old. And loves to be held in your arms and loves his head being rubbed! Just look at him smile and pose for you!

Ollie is a precious little boy who is estimated to be only about 5 to 6 weeks old and a beautiful black with white highlights and very long haired fellow who is winning the hearts of all of the people at Animal Control....will he win yours too????

Sasha is a 6-month old girl who is none too happy about looking for food and just about the time she settled in to finally eat the cage door slammed and she was trapped to be dumped here! She is a very sweet girl look at her smile!

Spice Cake SPONSORED! All warm and cuddly has no idea that he is sitting at this high-kill facility awaiting his fate. What will it be? A new home where he is loved (Never feel alone when he is home) or a cold grave where he is dumped and awaiting the garbage truck to pick his body up?????

Dolly is a medium-haired girl who is estimated to be about 14 weeks old. Little did she know that the trapping was going to start all over again and no food is safe when the trappers are at it!!!! So in she walks thinking that a tasty little morsel will be just the thing then SLAM goes the cage!

Scarface was fostered along with her two sisters when she was days-old. Now she has been bottle-fed and spoiled by very loving people LOL. She can't wait to find her new forever home.

Giggles and her kids came into by animal control by who I think was the owner. She is a beautiful cat with beautiful babies. Can you please save there life!

Tigger is a very handsome boy who loves attention. Look at the curiosity on his face. He doesn’t deserve to be killed at such a young age.

Fallen is a very pretty beige colored cat that just wants to sit in our lap please save my life, just look at that face!

Ironica is a very very sweet tabby girl, look at her reach out begging for her life to be saved. She is a sweet girl. Please don’t let her die here!

Brice is such a pretty girl. She has the softest fur. She was found at a car dealership. Poor girl never thought she would end up in a cage on death row. Please SAVE her!

Four Babies NEED YOU to save there life. They were found in the middle of the woods by there dead mother that was probably killed by a car. Please save them from an untimely death. All the orange babies are males and the little brown one in front is a little girl they are only 4 weeks old. Please help!

Each week we go to Animal Control and each week there are new animals in desperate need of adoption because they only get until the following week before they are killed to make room for the next bunch to come in. It would break your heart after interacting with each of these guys to go back the following week and ask about them only to find out that they got the needle. We need good people to come forward and open their homes to one of these desperate little ones. If you can help in any way such as to transport, or to get the word out further or to contact people, something, then we can make this effort work and together we can make a difference.

Thank you,
