8/20/11UPDATE SONIC IS GOING TO RESCUE!!!
M.O.M.'S Rescue in N.J. is doing a transport of dogs and cats from Liberty Cty AC to N.J. and N.Y. via I-95 over Labor Day weekend. It is a free transport. Sonic is going to be on it. There are still many dogs at Liberty Cty Animal Ctrl scheduled for euth this Monday. Their pictures are on Carpathia Paws Rescue on Facebook. Can you help Nate get on the transport? EUTHANASIA DATE: MONDAY, AUGUST 22ND

Sonic's time will be up on Monday. He has been patient and sweet, just standing by for someone to come save him and has been so thankful for the volunteer's time, even though it's been just a little since there are so many others who need attention. On Monday, the AC officer will walk to his cage door, Sonic will wag his tail knowing that he'll be lead out. But at the door to the euthanasia room he will put on the breaks because he will sense the danger. They'll have to drag him or carry him because he will be afraid... I don't have to write what happens next... We all know it... It is my sincere hope that someone hears this plea for him and will make the commitment that Sonic needs to get out of there alive. PLEASE, help him!
Sonic, 802-5101, is getting his very own posting because he is a favorite of the volunteers but has not had any interest from anyone... He is a brindle Hound mix with an amazingly soft coat. He is super sweet and loving and just wants your attention so badly... He is around 12 months old and gets along so good with other dogs. He just wants to belong to a family again. Since he came in with a red collar on we know that he used to have a home and a family but we don't know how he ended up in the hell hole known as Liberty County Animal Control..."

Please, Please, Please, rescue or adopt this dog. He is so full of life. To take his life is a crime against all that is good in life. The world is in such a mess, animals teach people compassion. Please have compassion for Sonic and give him a long happy life. He is a shelter staff favorite. The thought of him being excited that he is going outside and getting attention only to be dragged to the kill room, is too sad and shows how low humanity has sunk. When we save a life we save ourselves from all the ways our society has dehumanized us.
