2/8/10 URGENT DOGS AND CATS AND OTHERS GEORGIA KILL SHELTER

Angie

URGENT LISTING: Angie, the Beagle Mix!

Well, Angie is STILL there… Why is nobody interested in Angie? We just don't understand... Angie has been at Animal Control much longer than normally allowed and this was only possible because they did not run out of space. Now the hold policy has caught up with her and her time has run out. Her last day on earth is Wednesday and Thursday morning she will be walked into the chamber room and it will be the last thing she'll ever see before she closes her eyes forever. It's breaking our hearts because we got to know this sweet girl. Angie is a Beagle mix and it appears she may have a little Sharpei mixed in because she has the cutest wrinkles and folds down her back. She is playful and good with other dogs but can be a little dominating with some dogs. She is wonderful around children, as you can see by the first picture. She is approximately 1 1/2 years old and is medium sized. Can you change Angie's destiny?

OUR WONDERFUL KITTY CATS!

URGENT!!!!! (Lawrence comes with a FREE NEUTER VOUCHER!!!)

Lawrence is just as handsome as can be. His tiger striped suit is very distinguished and with this, he wears white boots on all 4 legs and sports a white tuxedo shirt underneath the tiger striped suit. He is so loveable. He purred away and was so happy when he was held that I could not muster getting a picture with his eyes open. What a lovely young boy he is. Any family should be happy to call him their own. Can you be that family?

Bob (804-4434) and Henry (804-4433)

Bob has a bobbed tail. He does NOT like other cats besides his cell mate Henry. He is very handsome, and a little temperamental. It would be wonderful if they could be adopted together.

Henry is very sweet, playful and really, really wants out of his kennel!

DEATH ROW ANIMALS

EUTHANASIA DATE: February 11, 8 AM!

EUTHANASIA DATE (URGENT on Bottom): ANY DAY!

Transport available as follows:

From Hinesville, GA to New England and Stops Along the Way Via Interstate 95!!!

If you would like to adopt one of the animals below, please contact

Petra at newbeginningsanimalrescue@gmail.com

The animals on this posting are on Death Row at Liberty County Animal Control. We only have very little time, often days, to find them new homes or no kill rescues to save their lives. We have personally interacted with each one of these animals. Our descriptions are straight forward! Our conscience would not allow us to hold anything back, and we would never give false information to save an animal, because it would only result in the animal being returned. You will never find vicious/dangerous animals on our listing! Usually, little or none is known about these animals' medical history. Thanks to micro chips, we do know that many of them are abandoned by military, which means they are most likely up-to-date on their shots, heart worm negative, and generally healthy; however, we cannot guarantee that, which is why each animal must receive prompt veterinary care after adoption takes place.

Spaying or neutering is a MUST!!! The following does not apply to rescues; however local adopters MUST purchase a spay/neuter voucher from us, as well as a micro chip and Rabies shot. Spay vouchers are $75 (dogs), $60 (cats) and neuter vouchers are $65 (dogs), $50 (cats). The cost for the micro chip and Rabies shot is $10 each. (If an adopter chooses to use his/her own vet for the spay/neuter, we will gladly reimburse the voucher amount upon proof from the vet’s office.)

Your help with adopting, rescuing, or fostering these animals is immensely appreciated, as is your help with cross posting to others who may be able to help save a life.

Maggie, the Australian Shepherd Mix Puppy!

OK, so do I really have to write anything to make you want this little baby?! I didn't think so! LOL Still, I will write a few facts about Maggie. When I first saw her in her puppy cage I thought she was a Yellow Lab mix but once I took her out into the sunlight it became clear to all of us that she has a lot of Australian Shepherd in her. Her coat is very fluffy and her face and ears point to that breed in an obvious way. She is very hyper right now so if that bothers you then you should not adopt Maggie, nor most other young puppies. Maggie appears to be about 12 weeks old and I think she will only grow to be medium in size. She loves, loves people and needs a home very soon before the cold, damp Animal Control cage will make her sick. Please have another look at her... If you would like to help Maggie, please contact me immediately.

Katie, the Black and Tan Coonhound Mix!

A young couple found Katie wondering around by Fort Stewart's front gate today. They are not allowed to have dogs or they would not have turned her over but they had no choice. And even a kill shelter is better for a dog than running stray. At least here there's regular food and no slow death from starvation or from getting hit by a car and surviving the hit, "just" sudden death by way of a cold, hard needle... Yes, even though little Katie is just a puppy of about 4 months old, she too will die if nobody comes for her or saves her life. She would love nothing more than a loving, warm forever home and no more worries of what might happen next. The picture you see below is Katie in a cat cage, that's how small she is right now. She will have some growing to do but her paws are not all that big. I'd estimate her to grow into a medium sized dog. Her markings and head point toward Black and Tan Coonhound and there may be some Beagle in there, too. Can you help Katie? If so, please contact me immediately.

Zack and Zoey are SO ADORABLE!

I can say without a doubt that these 2 are my favorite pups this week. They are so well behaved. You would think that they are wild and out of control like puppies of about 3-4 months are supposed to be, but no, they are not. They are more interested in nuzzeling and cuddling then being all over the place. They look very curious and intelligent and are looking for human closeness and a loving touch. The look like they have some Yellow Lab in them and perhaps a little Bully as well, but I'm really not 100% sure. What I am sure of is that they would make wonderful companions for any loving person or family. I would not hesitate to let them go to a family even with very small children. It would actually be great to see Zack or Zoey or even both of them together grow up with a young boy or girl. Please, please do not let these two sweethearts die at this awful place. If you can help, contact me ASAP!!!

Small things come in great packages!

Here are two of the smallest babies on Liberty County Animal Control's death-row.

First there's Luis who we think looks like a mix between a Dachshund, Jack Russell Terrier and perhaps even some Chihuahua. Luis is very upset to be locked up in that awful place and you can hear him crying from afar. This little dog was trying to cross the Main Street in Hinesville and almost got hit by a few cars. We were told he just froze in the middle of the street. The person trying to help him tried to get him off the street and he ran for her office building. She took him back across the street to see if anyone owned him, but nobody knew him and unfortunately, you can see his ribs very clearly so it’s clear that he’s been without a home for at least some days. He is not neutered and seems to be a young adult. Please have a look at this little boys face…

Secondly, there's a little black and white Jack Russel Terrier. Little Brady has lot's of spunk and looks like he's never had to miss out before. Though he has not done it to me yet, I was told he can be nippy, which most likely is due to his current environment. But because of this, we would not recommend him to go to a family with small children. Brady appears to be a young adult and only weighs about 10 pounds. He is kept on death-row in a cat cage because he is so small.

If you are interested in either one of these little guys, please contact me immediately.

Chubby Chase, the lil Newfy/Lab mix puppy!

This one you have to meet! Oh my goodness, Chubby is so adorable. He is spunky and curious and... well, chubby! lol He is about 12 weeks old and has A LOT of growing to do. If you do not want a large dog then stay away from this one. Chubby has a coat like a mink blanket. He is so soft and plushy that you can't help but rub your fingers through his coat over and over again and he's so great to hold and hug. And that's what he should be getting, hugs... It is so sad to know that he is sitting in a very cold metal cage on death row when he hasn't even had time to live yet. If you would like to help Chubby, please contact me immediately.

Picture Perfect PBT!

Artemis came into Animal Control as if he just left the doggie spa. His coat so soft that you want to immediately cuddle with him and he smelled like baby powder and scented shampoo. He has a nice collar on and is the perfect family dog, as he is very well socialized. He loves other dogs but would do especially well with a female. He lives for petting and cuddling and is all together a rare find. His markings are just gorgeous and his face is so cute you can't help but want to grab his cheeks and give him kisses while he kisses you back. Since Artemis is a PBT he cannot go to a home without the owner agreeing to mandatory home visits until we can be sure that he will not be used for fighting. You fighters out there, Artemis would not fight anyways. He does not have that in him! He is a lover not a fighter.

If you would like more information about Artemis, please contact me right away.

Marley, the Yellow Labrador!

Marley came into Animal Control with a micro chip with a working number... This was BEFORE CHRISTMAS!!! Animal Control called the owner several times but always got the sister of the owner. Eventually, they were told that the owner was no longer interested in Marley and was not going to come for him. Well, if you ask me, that's ANIMAL ABANDONMENT and the owner should be charged with that, but unfortunately, nothing is ever done about it... :-((( Marley is a handsome boy, with a very light coat, which is why he looks so ghostly in the pictures. He is about 3-4 years old and though he he is housed with another dog he would love to be an only dog. He likes his humans much more than other dogs and right now, after being at Animal Control for such a long time, he is very, very desperate for attention. If you would like to get more information on Marley, please contact us ASAP.

Jasper, the Border Collie/Pointer mix puppy needs you now!

Little Jasper is such a sad sight to behold. He is all alone and you can tell that he is craving the warmth and closeness to a sibling or a human. When you take him out of his cell he is so excited and happy and playful… Makes you feel like a trader to put him back. Look at the rusty gate of his cell. That’s a puppy cage at Liberty County Animal Control for you… The place is no better than a dungeon for homeless animals. It is dark and dingy and always wet. The animals don’t stand a chance there unless WE help them. Jasper is only about 3 months old and therefore has not had time to develop any bad habits yet that humans so often teach dogs. He is ready to be molded into the furry family member you want, but of course that will take work on your part. There’s house training, perhaps crate training, and of course he’ll chew up a few things until he gets out of that stage, but he’s SO worth being saved. Please give him that chance.

Oreo has her very own posting!

If you love kitty cats and you are looking to adopt one, then please come out to meet Oreo. She is a true find, so loving, playful and cute. Oreo is very unhappy in her cage but when you let her out it's like she's never been locked up. She checks out all of her surroundings thoroughly and is very mischievious. She loves to be loved on and does not mind being held in the least. I can imagine how much she would love to share someone's bed with them and just purr to her heart's content. I truly hope this little one will not end up dead... She is still a very young girl, only about 5 months old and is a tudedo kitty. Please let me know ASAP if you are interested in helping her.

***********************************

Fawn & Snow Flake

Fawn is a very, very cute little Tabby with distinct markings. Just look at the 2 real dark circles around her front legs. Fawn is just a baby, about 5 months old and is so adorable. Look at that sweet face and whiskers! She loves to be held and enjoys playing. She is curious and adventurous. Please save her life!!!

Snow Flake is a beautiful, solid white Domestic Short Hair. She is a young adult and it is clear to see that she is not used to being locked up. She looks depressed to say the least but when you open her cage you can see that she is hoping that you are there to bring her home. Please save her life!!!

***********************************

Marlon, the black kitty needs you now!

LOOK! Black kitties are amongst those who are killed most in kill shelters... That's bad news for Marlon, which is sad because he so deserves to live. Marlon is a young adult Domestic Short Hair and he's definitely seen better times. He must have been a mainly outside kitty because he has a torn ear that has since healed. He is so stressed right not that he is chewing on his tail and that has resulted in a small spot with missing hair but besides that, Marlon is just gorgeous. Look at those gold colored eyes amongst that jet black coat. Can you really resist him? If you worry for Marlon, please contact me right away before it's too late for him.

URGENT - URGENT - URGENT

Patches, the white Hound mix!

Have a look at Patches! Isn't she adorable??!! Oh, it's not just her look but her personality, too. She is very outgoing and seems to just love everyone. Look at how much she's enjoying a hug from the little boy of one of the rescue volunteers. Her eyes closing... just taking in the looooooove. :-) Patches has no problems with other dogs either, she loves to play and thinks everyone is her buddy. She has such a pretty look. Her body is white but has little tan freckles all over her, including her ears and then she has a large tan spot over her left eye and a smaller spot over her right - like little patches, hence the name. She is just about a year old and is medium in size. Patches' hold time at Animal Control is up and her day's are numbered. Please help her before it's too late.

Little Vinnie Barbarino, the Terrier Mix! (HOUSE BROKEN!)

This is little Vinnie Barbarino. He's as cute as a button and hopefully this will help him get off of death-row... because that's where he's at right now. Vinnie was picked up as a stray but it's clear that he was someone's dog, as he's wonderful around humans of all sizes and ages and he gets along very well with other dogs and even cats. Vinnie is an adult. I estimate him at around 4-5 years old and he only weighs about 28 pounds. He likes to strutt around, carrying his tail above his lower back and he loves getting his ears rubbed. He does not like getting into a crate, it scares him. He does not mind being picked up he would love having a forever home. Vinnie would be great in a family with older children or in a home with an older couple - he will pretty much fit in well in any situation.

804-4432: Star, the Bulldog mix!

The first thing all of us noticed about Star is that she has the cutest ears ever! They stand straight up! Star was not tested with male dogs but seems to not have any problems with female dogs, as she is currently housed with another female and was playing on the field with a couple of females. She is very playful and exciteable and likes to be the Alpha in the pack. She is still very young, approximately 1 ½ years old, which would also explain her energy. She is a beautiful dog and eye candy for Bully lovers. J
