This is just too terrible. These two sweet dogs have been waiting patiently for the rescue group to foster them. Mason was so certain the dogs were going to be rescued that they have not been listed. Maxine and Stewie are in danger. The rescue is not responding to communication from Mason. I have a couple words for them unless there is a genuine unimaginable reason for the lack of response.
UPDATE Maxine and Stewie going to wonderful rescue on 26th!!!!!! Whew. Finally, It's about time these two got outta here.
Maxine and Stewie MUST GET A RESCUE NOW! Pits and pit mixes cannot be adopted in Mason County.

On the other hand maybe this is a blessing that the rescue backed out. Now these two may find their forever homes. This seemingly bad break might be a good thing. The good break needs to happen ASAP. I'll keep you posted.

I see that Stewie and Maxine are no longer posted. Rescue backed out and these two fine dogs were killed? I hope not-your shelter does not appear to be full so there would be no good reason to put them down.
Don't worry. We are all doing happy dances. Sorry I didn't post this sooner. Maxine and Stewie are going to a wonderful rescue on the 26th. The rescue has worked with Mason before and taken many animals. These two will finally be in good hands.
Thank you so much for posting that, Elizabeth!! I have been contacting numerous rescues for a while now for these two and know how difficult it is to place pitties. I live in a state where the city/county shelters will not even post pits for adoption. If rescues do not come in to get them right away, they die.

I am not in NJ or Canada, but there is a "rescue" in Canada that takes pitbulls and any funding "dowry"-keeps the money and kills the dogs. They put up a great front, esp with hard to place pitties, but they are death. Please use caution with any rescue that will entertain the idea of a Canadian rescue to take the dogs.
How disturbing. Do you know the name of the so called rescue?
I would love to give the name, but at the moment there is legal action pending (international fraud). I will update as soon as I am able. There are at least 4 dogs that we are trying to locate that went to this rescue before the scam was discovered. Thankfully 6 were pulled back in the nick of time when the US driver started looking around and listening to the staff and seeing the awfulness.
