Notes: A lady brought me into the shelter and said I was a stray that showed up at her house and she could not keep me because I chased her cat. I have a microchip in my neck and the shelter people called the number and got the person that owned me who said they gave me away but they could not remember who they gave me to so now I am considered a stray. The shelter will only hold me five days before they euthanize me so please come forward and give me a chance as long as you don't have a cat. I am really a nice boy and will show you love.
URGENT! Tux is in foster care, but urgently needs a rescue. We need to move the dogs out of foster FAST in order to keep saving those that come into the shelter. Please contact us if you can rescue or adopt Tux.

PLEASE READ: Sponsors needed for vetting. Approx $100 covers full vetting & health certificate for a dog...but they must have somewhere for the dog to go (rescue commitment) in order to apply sponsorship. Boarding/local foster space is very limited and is only a short-term solution prior to transport. If you want to sponsor a dog, please also crosspost that dog to rescues to try to get it more exposure and a commitment. Local foster homes needed for pull/short term hold while the dog awaits transport to rescue.

My two Cents
If we all worked to educate the community on how vital it is to microchip and spay/neuter pets would have less of a chance to be euthanized. When a pet goes missing or even lost it is so important that we proactively react to the situation. Taking steps to protect your pet prior to having this scary and overwhelming incident happen. These steps include always keeping a collar on your pet with I.D Tags. Having your pet micro-chipped and registering them properly. Never leaving them outside unattended, this could lead to their escape as well as giving the opportunity for someone to steal your pet.
Making sure that you’re pet (s) are registered properly is vital to helping them return home. There are many companies that you can register your pet with. One of these companies is called www.helpmefindmypet.com they provide not only a registry but they also have created a proactive lost pet alert that is sent out in up to a fifty mile radius to all Shelters, Rescues, Veterinarians, Municipalities, Groomers, Kennels, Pet Industry, and Members. People find lost pets; if your community is aware that you’re pet is missing this will create a local involvement resulting in more pets being reunited with their families. Prevention and preparation is essential to keeping your family together.
