My friends of rescue,

I know I have been doing this a lot lately, but, this weekend, only ONE dog left

the shelter and more came in. James is rapidly approaching the point of no

return. It has been more than one year since anyone has had to die because of space

…don’t let the streak end this week. James is very good about not putting

anyone down and putting animals everywhere if the animals are spoken for

. They also have VERY temporary foster homes for animals committed to rescue.

The animals are begging for their lives…please don’t make them die…

PLEASE! I know some of you are breed specific or cross posters such as

myself, but, please look and forward on…the more cross posters the more

rescues get a look.

ANIMALS WILL DIE WITHOUT OUR HELP!!! HURRY!!! TIME IS RUNNING OUT!!!

This little guy's family is being evicted from their apartment .... actually they were evicted last night. The dog is now staying in the car. He has nowhere to go.

I was told he is 3 years of age. He is fearful and skittish. He is not neutered or up to date on vaccinations as the family claims they had no money to take him to the vet. He is fearful of men. He has no socialization so they don't think he is good with other dogs. He has never seen a cat.

He is good with the children in the family.

12/6/12 Generosity Needed

Shelters, fosters, rescues, transporters deserve our utmost respect and support. They do what former owners could not do or decided not to do for a variety of reasons: give care and love and safety to an animal and the opportunity for a new life. These people are doing a job for all of us. They have to constantly ask for help. The animals depend on them. Without them there would be even more homeless stray animals wandering the streets suffering and dying. Without them there would be no chance for these dogs and cats. Without them where would the dog or cat go when it was no longer wanted or when there was no money to feed the animal or provide medical care? Please be generous this holiday season with a donation or your time and volunteer.

I got her from my van and as I handed her off to the technician I removed her collar. It was a pink "COACH" collar, real leather. I said to myself .... Lucy you are such a lady.... "Extremely urgent ! Bonnie & Clyde need a home now ! Bonnie is extremely stressed out living the shelter life. Bonded couple, Bonnie and Clyde are 7+ years old and have found themselves stuck in a shelter. They appear to be brother and sister. Clyde is very dependant on Bonnie and they must be adopted together. Bonnie is deteriorating and is in desperate need of a home. They are hound / cattle dog mixes. Clyde is a funny guy and is somewhat of a clown. Bonnie is the more serious of the two and is motherly to her brother Clyde. They are both friendly and loving dogs. They are good driving in a car. We need to get Millie and Tillie out of the shelter now. Here is some information about these two sweet little ladies : from volunteer Jeannie - "These two girls are so adorable! I had them at my house overnight so they could come to an event the next day. They came right in and saw the crate I set up for them and both just walked right in on their own and got in their bed. They are both house trained and though Millie never seems to speak at all. Tillie barks a little when excited but quickly quiets down. They both need to be adopted together because they are very attached and would be lost without each other.Of the two Millie seems to take the lead and Tillie follows. They were both great getting their baths and being blown dry. These little ladies are wonderful companions for anyone looking for 2 little lap dogs with a lot of love to give.A home with an older person or couple would be ideal. They love everyone but are a bit fragile for rambunctious children".

"13-year-old Tillie and her sister Millie were left in front of our door in a miserable broken crate and dirty sheets.Both of these girls have a lot of get up and go and love be held. Tillie was very much underweight and we found that her sister eats her food before she can finish, so they have to be separated during feeding time. This is Vanessa- Hard Luck Girl! Life is unfair to many dogs but her is a girl that just can't seem to get a break. The early years of her life she has roamed and been neglected. As an unwanted dog she became pregnant and was dumped in McLean County with a...nother pregnant female dog. They both had their pups, alone in a barn,. The other mother dog took her puppies from her and she suffered alone and unable to nurse her pups. Since the other mamma had claimed the pups, Vanessa was taken from them. Her status now is this: black labrador retriever mix, thin, just had pups, unclaimed, unwanted, you know the story. could life have dealt this dog a worse hand. We want to make a difference and turn Vanessa's fate around. she has the personality to meld right into the perfect family. she seems to get along great with other dogs too. Her disposition lends itself to learning everything it takes to be a wonderful companion. It only takes one loving heart to make a difference in her life. Please give Vanessa your consideration. She had a litter of pups on the cold concrete slab of someone's garage and all the pups except one died. She did not have milk to feed the surviving pup so that pup was sent to a rescue that had a mama dog that could nurse the pup. Tatum is just as sweet as can be and she is so deserving of a chance for someone to really take care of her and put her breeding days behind her. Please help Tatum... "You will find some dogs on this listing who have been at AC longer than they were supposed to. It is not a miracle that they are still there... It is due to the fact that the RESCUE has the task of letting Animal Control officers know which ones "can" be euthanized when space runs out. Yes, that decision has to be made by people who want to see everyone of the adoptable dogs and cats leave and who takes this extra hard... Then again, we appreciate that they now allow us to do this because we know best which ones have more chances than some of the others there. This morning was the end for many and so very hard on all of us; therefore, I am praying that this listing will reach the right people so that next week will be easier. Our area has been hit hard with deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan and so many military families have abandoned their pets. With less families in the area, that also means hardly any adoptions. The primary goal of Canine Crusaders is rescuing dogs out of the Mahoning County Pound, Ohio. Foster homes can be as much as 180 miles away. They are located directly between Cleveland, OH and Pittsburgh, PA. "We are in DESPERATE need of SHORT-TERM FOSTERS for dogs awaiting transport to rescues. Foster time for dogs going to rescue is generally only 1 to 3 weeks. Foster time for dogs waiting to find their forever home may take a little longer. Foster homes provide temporary shelter, food and love." Canine Crusaders provides necessary vetting. The cost of food and toys is up to the foster. Prerequisites such as fenced yard, experience, etc., may depend on the type of dog to be fostered.

"Who We Are We also have a virtual group of volunteers, as well as a few locals, who have banned together in attempts of saving the dogs from the local dog shelters and other animals. Due to the economy, and other reasons, we are seeing many owner surrenders which we can keep out of the dog pounds, in general. We only have limited kennel space which was intended as a temporary hold for dogs pulled from the pound being vetted and transported. Now we must use them to house some dogs indefintely, just to save their lives. We need a shelter, we need more kennels, It is our goal to move the animals out of temporary holding to rescues or their "furever" homes as quickly as possible. Rescue

Sam was a friendly 6 month old puppy. Reason for euthanasia: Behavior, not aggressive behavior that you and I might think would make a dog unadoptable, but rather because 6-month-old puppy Sam was getting "depressed" in the shelter environment. Sasha was surrendered to the shelter as a healthy 1.5 year old when her owners moved to an apartment that did not allow dogs. Like many dogs, within days of arriving at the shelter Sasha developed a runny nose and cough, common signs of an upper respiratory infection that makes so many shelter dogs sick. Reason for Sasha's death: Medical.
