April 27, 2009 NOT ENOUGH FOOD FOR DOGS-Many Vetted Dogs Euthed at Shelter. Summerville Georgia.URGENT!!!!

Can't feed dogs. Too costly. Solution is Kill them. That folks is the mentality we live in in this country. I understand we are in terrible economic times but if we are suppose to be taking the high moral road on things as our President suggests we should is killing animals because there is not enough money to buy food the high moral ground? Where is Purina when you need them. Can't anyone get food donated to this shelter. Has anyone tried?

New Urgent Chattooga Dogs! - Summerville, GA
All of these dogs are URGENT at Chattooga County Animal Control in Summerville, Georgia. 18 adoptable dogs were euthanized this last week at Chattooga. Several were completely vetted. All were young happy dogs that could have made wonderful family pets. The shelter is already full again just 2 days later. These pups need help fast! Chattooga desperately needs fosters and transporters. Chattooga County is desperately poor. No one can afford to foster or pay for gas and drive dogs. The shelter also needs food donations. There are so many more dogs coming in than there were this time last year that there is not enough food for them all. If we ask the county to pay for more food they will make the shelter euthanize more often. Chattooga is only an hour and a half from Atlanta and an hour south of Chattanooga. This mass euthanasia doesn't have to happen again this week! Can anyone PLEASE help?
