"I received a call from a local resident last night. He has 7 six week old pups from a beagle mother and unknown father. His beagle chewed her way out of the fenced in area or kennel she is kept in. He wanted to relinquish them to OCFA or call the dog warden. The Owen County shelter does not take owner surrenders now that we manage the shelter. We will try to help them find a suitable home or take them for a fee of $50 per pup or $100 per dog over 6 months old. He stated he would keep them a little while then he would have to “take care of it himself”. If you know anyone looking for a pup. Please have them call Hilari at 502-514-1539 and I will pass along the info to the owner.
