This little guy's family is being evicted from their apartment .... actually they were evicted last night. The dog is now staying in the car. He has nowhere to go.

I was told he is 3 years of age. He is fearful and skittish. He is not neutered or up to date on vaccinations as the family claims they had no money to take him to the vet. He is fearful of men. He has no socialization so they don't think he is good with other dogs. He has never seen a cat.

He is good with the children in the family.

12/6/12 Generosity Needed

Shelters, fosters, rescues, transporters deserve our utmost respect and support. They do what former owners could not do or decided not to do for a variety of reasons: give care and love and safety to an animal and the opportunity for a new life. These people are doing a job for all of us. They have to constantly ask for help. The animals depend on them. Without them there would be even more homeless stray animals wandering the streets suffering and dying. Without them there would be no chance for these dogs and cats. Without them where would the dog or cat go when it was no longer wanted or when there was no money to feed the animal or provide medical care? Please be generous this holiday season with a donation or your time and volunteer.

"When I left Lucy at the vet it was midnight and I just picked her up from an emergency transport out of West Virginia. I got her from my van and as I handed her off to the technician I removed her collar. It was a pink "COACH" collar, real leather. I said to myself .... Lucy you are such a lady.... I will hold this collar .... and when you are better ... you are going to wear it home from here.... with all the dignity and grace you deserve...that's all she has in life is a Coach collar and a hope & prayer to survive."

Supposed to have been euthanized a couple of days ago, he was granted a couple of more days because he such a sweetheart. I know the attached pictures look horrible, I asked for better ones, but was unable to get them. Officer DeSimone said the following of Lux "In speaking with the employees at CT K9, this dog appears to get along well with people and does not appear to be aggressive. "Extremely urgent ! Bonnie & Clyde need a home now ! Bonnie is extremely stressed out living the shelter life. Bonded couple, Bonnie and Clyde are 7+ years old and have found themselves stuck in a shelter. They appear to be brother and sister. Clyde is very dependant on Bonnie and they must be adopted together. Bonnie is deteriorating and is in desperate need of a home. They are hound / cattle dog mixes. Clyde is a funny guy and is somewhat of a clown. Bonnie is the more serious of the two and is motherly to her brother Clyde. They are both friendly and loving dogs. They are good driving in a car. They are spayed and neutered, up to date on vaccinations and house trained. They love people and are wonderful with kids. 1.) Not all animals listed on this email are available TODAY! Please look at the “available date” under each animal picture to see when they can leave the shelter.
2.) When you reply to confirm dogs or cats, please include in your email what rescue you work with.
3.) Dogs are not heartworm tested until a rescue confirms them (unless otherwise noted). If you CANNOT take a HW+ animal, please mention it when you confirm! Cats are not tested for felv-fiv until confirmed please state if you cannot take an FIV + or FELV+ cat.
4.)We CANNOT guarantee the health of an animal. We focus on preventative health and do not have the resources to have every animal vet checked prior to placement.
5.) Pull fees MUST be paid at the time of confirming the animal, and at the absolute latest, when the animal is picked up from our shelter. We no longer invoice- sorry!

In the form of THIS handsome boy? Eight-year-old Snow was left at the shelter by his owner. He was left with a note saying goodbye. His owner moved to a new home that would not accept pets so she left him outside the shelter. He is a quiet old boy that enjoys the company of people. He is strong on a leash, knows some commands and enjoys running and rolling in the grass. Snow also does well with other dogs. 12/29/11 Millie and Tille 2 Sweet Seniors New Haven CT Shelter Need OUT!

We need to get Millie and Tillie out of the shelter now. Here is some information about these two sweet little ladies : from volunteer Jeannie - "These two girls are so adorable! I had them at my house overnight so they could come to an event the next day. They came right in and saw the crate I set up for them and both just walked right in on their own and got in their bed. They are both house trained and though Millie never seems to speak at all. Tillie barks a little when excited but quickly quiets down. They both need to be adopted together because they are very attached and would be lost without each other.Of the two Millie seems to take the lead and Tillie follows. They were both great getting their baths and being blown dry. These little ladies are wonderful companions for anyone looking for 2 little lap dogs with a lot of love to give.A home with an older person or couple would be ideal. They love everyone but are a bit fragile for rambunctious children".

"13-year-old Tillie and her sister Millie were left in front of our door in a miserable broken crate and dirty sheets.Both of these girls have a lot of get up and go and love be held. Tillie was very much underweight and we found that her sister eats her food before she can finish, so they have to be separated during feeding time. We need help paying for their vetting or they won't be able to have a Merry Christmas. All 3 kitties have bad upper respiratory infections and worms. Despite everything we're doing with medication and supplements, nothing is helping. We need to take them back to the vet for more testing to see if there is anything else going on that they're not recovering. . As an unwanted dog she became pregnant and was dumped in McLean County with a...nother pregnant female dog. They both had their pups, alone in a barn,. The other mother dog took her puppies from her and she suffered alone and unable to nurse her pups. Since the other mamma had claimed the pups, Vanessa was taken from them. Her status now is this: black labrador retriever mix, thin, just had pups, unclaimed, unwanted, you know the story. could life have dealt this dog a worse hand. We want to make a difference and turn Vanessa's fate around. she has the personality to meld right into the perfect family. she seems to get along great with other dogs too. "You will find some dogs on this listing who have been at AC longer than they were supposed to. It is not a miracle that they are still there... It is due to the fact that the RESCUE has the task of letting Animal Control officers know which ones "can" be euthanized when space runs out. Yes, that decision has to be made by people who want to see everyone of the adoptable dogs and cats leave and who takes this extra hard... Then again, we appreciate that they now allow us to do this because we know best which ones have more chances than some of the others there. This morning was the end for many and so very hard on all of us; therefore, I am praying that this listing will reach the right people so that next week will be easier. The primary goal of Canine Crusaders is rescuing dogs out of the Mahoning County Pound, Ohio. Foster homes can be as much as 180 miles away. They are located directly between Cleveland, OH and Pittsburgh, PA. "We are in DESPERATE need of SHORT-TERM FOSTERS for dogs awaiting transport to rescues. Foster time for dogs going to rescue is generally only 1 to 3 weeks. Foster time for dogs waiting to find their forever home may take a little longer. Foster homes provide temporary shelter, food and love." Canine Crusaders provides necessary vetting. The cost of food and toys is up to the foster. Prerequisites such as fenced yard, experience, etc., may depend on the type of dog to be fostered.

"Who We Are We also have a virtual group of volunteers, as well as a few locals, who have banned together in attempts of saving the dogs from the local dog shelters and other animals. Due to the economy, and other reasons, we are seeing many owner surrenders which we can keep out of the dog pounds, in general. We only have limited kennel space which was intended as a temporary hold for dogs pulled from the pound being vetted and transported. Now we must use them to house some dogs indefintely, just to save their lives. We need a shelter, we need more kennels, It is our goal to move the animals out of temporary holding to rescues or their "furever" homes as quickly as possible. Rescue

I check this once a week.

If a Petfinder listing is removed it can mean the animal was rescued or adopted or euthanized. If you are interested in the animal, don't think the worst. You can contact the shelter. If the animal was rescued and you are interested in adoption, you may be able to find out the name of the rescue through the shelter. Ask for the shelter manager or animal control officer if you call.

Sam was a friendly 6 month old puppy. Reason for euthanasia: Behavior, not aggressive behavior that you and I might think would make a dog unadoptable, but rather because 6-month-old puppy Sam was getting "depressed" in the shelter environment. Sasha was surrendered to the shelter as a healthy 1.5 year old when her owners moved to an apartment that did not allow dogs. Like many dogs, within days of arriving at the shelter Sasha developed a runny nose and cough, common signs of an upper respiratory infection that makes so many shelter dogs sick. Reason for Sasha's death: Medical.
