The Lab and her bonded Beagle brother were adopted together yesterday, so
great news to report for them!

But this little 25-pounder is very urgent in Byron, GA! She was found
running down the interstate with harness and leash attached.

She is super sweet and friendly, and is around 2-years old.

This is a tiny shelter, and she is now very urgent as they are now jammed
packed!

"Smiling Dog Farms is a Sanctuary, not a traditional rescue.

We are a "Last Resort" for dogs who have run out of options and are facing certain death.  Our mission is to care for those dogs who have nowhere else to go.

Our dogs have come from shelters, rescues and individuals all across America.  They have come for many, varied reasons.  Some have medical issues, some have behavioral challenges, some are older, senior dogs and some just ran out of time at a shelter and would have been put down if they had not come here.  If a dog is breathing, he is welcomed at Smiling Dog Farms.

6/16/ 15 Bureau of Land Management- Demand Shelter for Wild Horses & Burros Sweltering in BLM Holding Pens. American Wild Horse Preservation.

Is this animal cruelty?  You decide. Imagine having no way to get out of the sun. The animals are sentient beings. This is no way to treat them.

Our goal is to protect America’s wild horses and burros by stopping the federal government’s systematic elimination of these national icons from our public lands"

"Summer is upon us and the nearly 17,000 wild horses and burros incarcerated in Bureau of Land Management (BLM) holding pens are once again exposed to unrelenting sun and sweltering temperatures without relief. Once wild on the range, these animals were free to seek shelter from the elements in tree cover, ravines and canyons. But in BLM feedlots..." Read the rest

Major- Story from Animal Rescue Site-

"They found out he was FIV+ and they were all deeply upset as everyone instantly loved him due to his playful personality and affectionate nature. I became involved when one of the techs at POP called to find out if I knew anyone who would take an FIV+ cat. The choice was up to POP to find a place for him by the end of the work day or to euthanize him. He rubbed all over the techs and purred up a storm as they went to euthanize him at 5pm - and that's when I got the call for help! He was going to Orange County Animal Services, and since he had been neutered that morning, he could be transferred to OCAS for no fee! He currently resides there and is patiently waiting to find his forever home!"
