Declawed Darling Only Has Days Left (2 pictures below)
It isn't cheap to get a cat declawed, but it is certainly cruel. Crueler still, is leaving that declawed cat defenseless against the outside world.

Sweet feline, Juniper, was found wandering West 196, skinny and confused. With no claws on her front or hind feet, she couldn't climb a tree for safety or hunt effectively. Instead, she was left unarmed to face her environment, totally unskilled at a life outdoors. Hungry and alone with no collar or identification, this darling girl was likely abandoned as so many other cats are.

Now living in a steel cage at animal control, Juniper is one of the calmer residents. When taken from her barred abode, she does not try to run or wiggle away. She is grateful to be held and have her medium length coat gently stroked. When a volunteer looked her over, this delicate cat made no objection to having her teeth checked and paws massaged. She gave absolutely no resistance to being picked up and having her belly investigated for a possible spay scar (one was not visible).

Juniper is the sweet and shy type who blossoms after a bit of loving attention. She melts when human arms hold her. She looks out of place in a cage. After a good bathing, brushing and some healthy food to put some weight on her, Juniper could easily be the picture-perfect household princess.

She is an adult cat with slightly shorter ears and has been at Liberty County Animal Control since May 10th. She is starting to get the sniffles as so many cats do when held in facilities with other strays. It is minor right now and could probably be treated quite easily, but the longer she stays, the worse it will get. She only has until Tuesday anyway. That is the day when she will receive a lethal injection straight into her heart that will kill her and end the life of this potential princess far earlier than is right. Far too few felines are making it out alive these days and Juniper is likely to be the next statistic.

She should never have been discarded. She has so much sweetness to offer, so much love and adoration to give. She is a sensitive creature who has been treated far too harshly.

If you can help this kitty through adoption, foster or rescue, please contact New Beginnings Animal Rescue at 912-610-1573 or newbeginningsanimalrescue@live.com

They do accept donations and sponsorships, but please keep in mind that since she is showing the beginning signs of sickness, getting her out as soon as possible without getting her time at animal control extended longer is of the most importance.

Please remember to Spay/Neuter your pet.  The number one cause of death in healthy animals in the US is euthanasia
