"Have a look at Harvey and Sam below… Both boys came to Liberty County Animal Control weeks ago and have nearly escaped death several times now, thanks to the fact that others were saved, thus creating room. When Harvey and Sam first arrived, they seemed to have no idea what danger they were in. Happy go lucky, they accepted their fate of being stuck in a wet outdoor cell with nothing but concrete and wire to surround them. They also accepted being partnered up with each other and have since made friends. Harvey is neutered and Sam is not but that does not cause any scuffles. The two of them get along perfectly though they have never met before they were imprisoned. Even though both dogs are extremely handsome, there has been little to know interest in either of them, which is resulting in Animal Control staff’s eyes to be all on them as the ones that need to “go next…” I beg you, have a look at the faces of these two boys… Do you see how full of life they are? Both of them are smiling on these pictures, which were taken when they first arrived. They are not smiling anymore… I think they understand now that something is amiss. They rarely get out to run and get little interaction because there are so many dogs, yet very few volunteers. They sit in the cell all day, waiting… Waiting for what? I know they must have given up hope by now because they both seem depressed. Surely they were thinking that their family was going to come to bring them home eventually but weeks have passed and no one has missed them. They area now waiting on death to come, death by heart stick… Then their bodies will be deposited in one of the large freezers until the dump truck picks them up. Two beautiful, handsome boys that could give so much to a family or an individual, yet they have been overlooked and forgotten. They will never chase a ball at the park and they will never have the chance to lick their masters face in gratitude to simply belong… They won’t have the chance to feel a soft mattress beneath them ever again, instead they will rot away in a landfill in the hot Georgia sun because nobody cared enough, nobody gave them a second look, a second chance… Even if this posting goes unnoticed, like the once before, at least I can say I tried but I will still cry silent tears for them because it is just not fair…"
