He is in danger of being gassed or going to Class B Dealers for research, which is legal in this state. Calvin is at risk of going to Class B dealer for research labs as this is still legal in the state of Michigan. As if that is not enough, this is also a Gassing shelter. Calvin is now URGENT !!! The primary goal of Canine Crusaders is rescuing dogs out of the Mahoning County Pound, Ohio. Foster homes can be as much as 180 miles away. They are located directly between Cleveland, OH and Pittsburgh, PA. "We are in DESPERATE need of SHORT-TERM FOSTERS for dogs awaiting transport to rescues. Foster time for dogs going to rescue is generally only 1 to 3 weeks. Foster time for dogs waiting to find their forever home may take a little longer. Foster homes provide temporary shelter, food and love." Canine Crusaders provides necessary vetting. The cost of food and toys is up to the foster. Prerequisites such as fenced yard, experience, etc., may depend on the type of dog to be fostered. | |
Sam was a friendly 6 month old puppy. Reason for euthanasia: Behavior, not aggressive behavior that you and I might think would make a dog unadoptable, but rather because 6-month-old puppy Sam was getting "depressed" in the shelter environment. Sasha was surrendered to the shelter as a healthy 1.5 year old when her owners moved to an apartment that did not allow dogs. Like many dogs, within days of arriving at the shelter Sasha developed a runny nose and cough, common signs of an upper respiratory infection that makes so many shelter dogs sick. Reason for Sasha's death: Medical.
