December 6, 2008 A Holiday Miracle for Cats and Kitties at Humane Society KY Still Need Vetting Sponsors to Make Miracle Complete

Give a Gift of Life This Holiday Season
*** Sponsor a shelter pet and we'll send a holiday card and photo to the recipient of your choice ***

For many months now, our shelter has literally been bursting at the seams with an overabundance of seemingly unwanted - but super-wonderful - cats and kittens. In what might best be described as a true holiday miracle, we have a rescue group that has agreed to take 60 (YES - 60!) of these amazing furr-purrs (the actual rescue of which has been spread out over the course of the last several weeks). We were also blessed to have the vetting for almost 40 cats/kittens in this lucky group to be donated by our local veterinarians' office.

We now have one final batch of 20 cats/kittens (see their photos below) to prepare for their journey to a guaranteed second chance at a wonderful life. The problem is, the funds to get them vetted and on the road to safety have pretty much run out. Donations are desperately needed by December 12th to make their transport to safety possible.

This is a perfect chance for fellow cat-lovers to make a donation to a shelter cat or kitten of their choice and to KNOW that it truly will be getting a new lease on life very, very soon.

For any size donation - whether it's made as a gift to yourself, or to a family member, co-worker, pet-sitter, you name it - we'll happily send a holiday gift card to the recipient of your choice that will thank them for the life that they've saved. What better way to recognize someone's love of cats than by helping to save one in their name?

The cats and kittens shown below are the candidates to go on this final trip (as long as their health remains in good condition). Several others that are going have already been fully sponsored. Feel free to pick one of them as the cat you'd like your sponsorship to be applied to and we'll enclose a photo of them in the card we send to the recipient of your choice. You can read more about each of these dear cats by clicking on the link at the top of this page that says "Click Here To Only See Our Cats."

And just so you know - a full sponsorship for vetting and transport is $75 per cat/kitten, but sponsorships in ANY amount are greatly appreciated! This life-saving offer isn't limited though to the cats shown below or even to just cats. You can pick ANY of the animals listed on our website to sponsor and we'll gladly send a holiday card and photo to the gift-recipient of your choice. Full sponsorships for adult dogs are $85 each and puppies are $100 each, but once again, ANY amount is appreciated.

If you'd like to make a life-saving donation to any of our deserving dogs or cats, you can do so by either using the Paypal "Donate" button found at the top on this page or you can mail a check or money order directly to the shelter at:

Grayson County Humane Society/SPCA
213 William Thomason Byway
Leitchfield, KY 42754

Please also let us know the name and address of the person you'd like a holiday gift card sent to. If need be, you can do so by emailing the information to the shelter volunteers at dwhite@aggressiveonline.net.

Please consider giving this unique, life-saving gift to a loved one in your life.

Thank you so very much.
Happy holidays to one and all!!!

Sorry the text is so large. I couldn't alter it.

research labs as this is still legal in the
state of Michigan.
As if that is not enough, this is also a
Gassing shelter.

Calvin is now URGENT !!! Calvin is a very outgoing
Young boy.
He loves to play and is just full of joy. He would

WOOD TV in Grand Rapids Michigan is investigating cruelty
allegations
against the Montcalm County Michigan Animal Control
Shelter. It appears
that allegations of animal cruelty led to the resignation
of Animal Control
Director Kevin Weaver. It will be up to county
commissioners to decide
who the new director will be.

Montcalm County has long been known as one of
the worst animal control programs in the
state of Michigan. Virtually no attempt is
made to place dogs and cats in new homes.
Rescue groups are never contacted to save animals
and probably the worst, all unclaimed animals
are literally given to a USDA Class B Research Dealer,
R & R Research

, owned and operated by Howard City's James Woudenberg.
In exchange
for taking all of these animals for free, Woudenberg “euthanizes”
them for free for the shelter. Never mind that an undercover
investigation by WOOD TV in the 1990's
showed video of Woudenberg gassing animals in a rusty
55 gallon drum.

R & R Research, A History of Shady Dealings

I had to post this for Calvin and all the other wonderful
pets that need out of this horrible place. If you want more info
on Calvin, please call the shelter.

Rockette- Urgent
I am in kennel 8, available for adoption 12-01-08. I was found as a stray, but the people who found me didn't know I was in heat, so I was accidentally bred to their Lab. I need to get out of the pound so I can either be spayed or be properly cared for. I cannot be around cats, as I will harm them. ***Must be 18 years of age or older to adopt***
