someone helps. This gassing and killing business is truly disgusting. I suggest everyone who was wondering if Sarah Palin's baby was her daughter's baby might consider getting their heads out of their bleep bleep bleep and save a life. Saving one of these deathrow cats is a much better use of time in my opinion and I am sure the cats would be grateful. After all who wants to be put in a gas chamber and killed even though our society allows it to happen.

See All the Deathrow cats and don't waste a minute if you want to save one of these precious animals.

BENTLEY IS ONE HANDSOME JOYOUS FULL OF LIFE DOG. PLEASE RESCUE HIM.Leitchfield,KY:Great Dane/Staffie Mix Facing PTS, Transport Available

BENTLEY
Petfinder File: http://www.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=11320592
Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a6wIpTx0cwk

Suave -- sophisticated -- a man of the world. That's what James Bond and Bentley have in common. Part Great Dane, part American Staffie, Bentley's versatility will astound you. Passionate and adventurous, he has a way with the ladies, yet he also knows how to relax and enjoy the finer things in life -- like steak for breakfast. Bentley would like nothing more than a human to walk beside, because he likes to be around people so much, but he isn't clingy like some dogs. Get ready for lots of attention though -- he's a REAL head turner! Bentley was brought to our shelter in February of 2008, along with Jetta and her very young pups. Jetta and her babies were rescued, but Bentley is still with us. He's about 3-4 years old. Bentley -- now neutered -- runs in the field with Daisy (a Boxer/Pit mix - http://www.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=11320602) and we feel certain he would do well with most female dogs, but he likes being the only man around
-- again, just like James Bond.

*************
Please know that the Grayson County Humane Society/SPCA in Leitchfield, Kentucky has TRULY run out of space and time for the 60+ dogs and puppies that are now there. Every kennel is full, so needless to say, there is NO more space in the shelter for any new arrivals. While they strive to be a no-kill shelter, it just isn't always possible. Owner turn-ins that aren't vetted will now likely face immediate euthanization. Next will be stray dogs that have passed their stray hold.

Please - if you can rescue or adopt just one dog or puppy, perhaps one more will live another day at Grayson. Thank you for ANY help that you can provide.

Low cost vetting is available and out-of-state adoptions are allowed.

WE NEED HELP! Celina, Ohio Dogs will Die on WEDNESDAY!

debrafarrell1@yahoo.com

Mon Sep 1, 2008 6:52 am (PDT)

Please cross post!

Come on, folks...these babies need your help! Please don't let them die! They are located in the Mercer County Dog Pound in Celina, Ohio. The pound is PACKED FULL! A significant number of these dogs must be rescued to save lives NOW! Pound fee is $22.00.

Call Tom Powell, the Dog Warden, at 419 942 1550.

Approved rescues can email Lucy for pull and transport help at lmoye0617@sbcglobal.net

Website:
http://www.openarmspoundrescue.com/untitled1.html

TEALA! Quiet female Golden/Chow mix. The dog warden says Teala has a good personality.

SPORT! Male Rott/Chow mix. Sport weighs about 50 pounds and was picked up as a stray with Paco. Sport is sponsored. He wags his tail and is glad for attention. The dog warden says he has a good temperament.

GRACE! Poor baby...she was taken to the pound with a 5-6 month old puppy of hers. The puppy was rescued, but Grace is still here. Another of her puppies was allowed to starve to death in the same kennel with her. Her owner has been prosecuted, by Grace still needs some reason to hope for a future. Grace appears to be pregnant.

HARLEY is a one year old male Cattle Dog Mix. He weighs about 60 pounds. His owner was abandoned by her husband. With three small children she couldn't find a place to go that would allow dogs. She loves Harley and is broken hearted to lose him. She is begging for someone to save him.

GROUP BEING ORGANIZED TO LEAVE FOR LOUISIANA NEXT WEEK IF NECESSARY

========== PLEASE CROSSPOST ==========

GROUP BEING ORGANIZED TO LEAVE FOR LOUISIANA NEXT WEEK IF NECESSARY

OK folks here we go again. I just returned yesterday from New Orleans and am organizing a group to make preparations NOW to be able to leave ANY DAY next week if the New Orleans levees fail or if Gustav wreaks havoc to the emergency pet evacuation shelters which the state of Louisiana has set up in Alexandria, Shreveport and other locations (which is where Gustav's eye appears to be headed as of this morning).

1) Volunteers are not being invited as of yet. 2) The highways near New Orleans have been put into "contraflow," which means that no one can drive into the city since all highways are headed only outbound. 3) Volunteers arriving on their own will NOT be allowed in, as the authorities made it very, very clear that they will arrest anyone caught in a clandestine manner trying to enter any parish under mandatory evacuation. 4) The last thing the authorities need is for vigilante would-be rescuers to need to also be rescued if a major catastrophe occurs. Let's not forget how the 350 firemen died on Sept 11.

Here is what we CAN do:

Prepare plans to be able to leave on a dime by packing, getting supplies, camping gear, water jugs, generators, fuel cans, coolers, batteries, flashlights, rescue jackets, plastic gloves, masks, hand sanitizers, unperishable food, duct tape, etc.

I am FEMA certified and just completed my Louisiana State Animal Response Team certification (LSART) when I was in New Orleans two days ago. I am waiting for my LA state credentials any day now. Once my credentials are in hand, and if Gustav turns into a major disaster, I will be bringing as large a group as possible down to Louisiana with me next week, assuming the state puts the call out for out of state volunteers. You are welcome to join. If you intend to come please fill out the volunteer LSART form at http://www.lsart.org/.

My plan is to rendezvous with everyone who wants to be a part of this group in Fayetteville, NC, where we own a 24 ft. Mobile Veterinary Unit with self-powered generator, etc. From there we will drive into Louisiana in a caravan of vehicles. Vehicles which can carry as many animals as possible will be most in need.

Please respond with your phone number and name if you are starting to make preparations to be able to leave any day next week. Thank you all for your concern.
