>> Leo (A250070) came to the shelter, along with several other dogs, after no one wanted to claim to be responsible for the dogs. You see, their owner just let them roam the neighborhood and fend for themselves. Leo was very shy and scared when he came to the shelter. Staff have been working with him and he has started to come around but will still need some help getting over his fearful behavior. Leo is aged at around 3 years old, he weighs 33 pounds, and is heartworm POSITIVE. When Leo first came to the shelter, he was limping on one of his back legs and acted painful when the vet tried to do an exam. The vet said that he had mild lameness and mild muscle loss in his left rear leg. She also said that he had a crepitus left stifle and would not extend his left hip. She feels confident that this is an old injury. Leo was very nervous when he had his exam so the vet staff did muzzle him. He did very well and tolerated his blood draw and vaccines. Leo was dog tested with a very hyper intact female. He really did not want to have anything to do with her and tried to avoid contact with her. We then tested him with one of the smaller dogs that came in with him. You should have seen Leo’s eyes light up. He wiggled all over, wagged his tail, and sniffed her in the face. Leo seems to be a little scared of men, but does fine around women. If we had to guess a breed for Leo, we would probably say beagle mixed with lab.
>> Needs to be OUT of the shelter BY: 5:00pm 4/08/20 - FINAL EXTENSION: 5:00 PM 4/15/02 (UNABLE TO HOLD PAST THIS DATE!)

>> Posse (A250148) was found as a stray and was never reclaimed as an owner.. This shy girl is very scared here at the shelter. She opens up and trust some people right off, but others she requires more time to get to know them. Posse is aged at 1.5 years, she weighs 57 pounds, she is heartworm negative, and has been vaccinated. Posse got along great with her finder’s multiple dogs. Posse also jumped the finder’s 3.5ft fence multiple times with no issues. Posse is TERRIFIED of a leash and will bark at one. She does not walk on a leash and had to be carried to her vet exam. This girl needs someone that can take it slow and show her that she can trust people. It is VERY hard to guess the breed of this girl. If you go off of her coloring and erect ears, you would say German Shepherd. If you go off of the shape of her head and snout, she looks like a shorthaired Collie. Posse seems to be very food motivated and loves treats.
>> Needs to be OUT of the shelter BY: 5:00pm 4/08/20.

>> It was the year 1843. Flowered bonnets were in fashion, John Tyler was president, and all the cool kids were reading Edgar Allan Poe by the fireplace after milking the cows. Somewhere in the back of a covered wagon, our precious Belial was just blossoming into adulthood... Okay, that might be an exaggeration. But for real though, Belial (A249384) is older than dirt. He's not a grandpa or a great-grandpa, he's more like a great-great-great-great grandpa. He's filled with wisdom, understanding, and drool. Lots and lots of drool. Like most men his age, his favorite pastimes include napping, eating soft foods, and starting rambling hours-long stories with a croaky "when I was your age..." He also enjoys purring loudly about literally everything, rubbing his drooly face all over you, and making very sincere biscuits on his fluffy bed. While he may be living the easy life in his golden years, he still likes to maintain his handsome physique! Trust us, it takes a lot of effort to keep up that chunky round belly on those little chicken legs. He maintains a strict diet of Fancy Feast with a side of Temptations, plus the occasional used napkin he digs out of the trash can.
>> We are thinking that this Mr. Rogers wanna-be is at least 11 years old, neutered, he has been treated for a URI, he weighs 15pounds and is FELV/FIV negative. Even though Belial is over his URI issues, his third eyelids are still “up” (as you notice in the pictures). The vet has continued his Terramycin ointment. This boy does have bilateral lenticular sclerosis and a lipoma that is under his front leg. The vet said that it is not bothersome to him now, but it may need to be removed at some point. Belial has been in a temporary foster home while he has recuperated from his URI, and the foster home is willing to temporarily continue fostering him while we try and search for a rescue organization that can help this sweet boy. Rescue is his ONLY way out of the shelter.

>> Badger (A250249) came to us after she was found as a stray. This completely and utterly adorable, most precious and silly girl is most certainly a staff favorite here at the shelter. This senior girl LOVES to go for walks and be friends with anyone she can get to. Badger is literally a walking garbage deposal and will try to snack on anything she can get her little paws on (including but not limited to: cotton balls, paper towels, spatulas, and the occasional chicken.) Badger is aged to be at least 9 years old, she weighs 25 pounds, she has severe dental disease, nuclear sclerosis, baldness on the backs of her ears, and she also has a grapefruit sized mass on her abdomen. Don’t let all of these issues fool you, Badger is a spry old gal that loves to be active.

>> Embros (A250288) and Mickey (A250287) are brothers that were surrendered to the shelter after their owner decided that they no longer wanted them. These boys are around 10 months old and are full of energy! They play well together and act like your typical good natured, goofy, 10 month old puppies. While we cannot confirm it, we HIGHLY suspect that both of these boys have a pretty good case of Ringworm. They both have multiple patches of circular patterned hair loss (See above pictures for just a couple of the many hair loss circular spots). Some of these places do glow positive under a Woodslamp. The only way to positively confirm that it is Ringworm is to have a fungal culture completed. (Results typically take two weeks and we are unable to hold these boys for that long). Embros and Mickey weigh around 40 pounds, are heartworm negative and have been vaccinated. We are begging for a rescue to step up and help these young brothers. Rescue is their ONLY way out of the shelter.
>> Must be CLAIMED and OUT OF THE SHELTER by: 5:00pm 4/15/20 (Will NOT extend hold date. We are unable to house them past this date!!!)

>> Sunflower (A250381) was brought to the shelter as a stray and was never reclaimed by an owner. This very sweet kitty is around 2 years old and weighs 9 pounds. Our vet suspects that Sunflower is pregnant. Unfortunately this kitty is FIV positive. We are reaching out to rescues to see if we can get someone to help save this precious girl and her future family.
>> Has to be CLAIMED and OUT OF THE SHELTER by: 5:00pm 4/15/20
