12/16/16 "When we domesticated animals - for our own benefit - we took away their ability to fend for themselves and thus took on the responsibility to care for them. When you consider the number of companion animals who are abused, neglected or euthanized each year and the way we treat farm animals, you can only conclude that we are failing to live up to our obligation." - P. K. Barkur

What is needed is a change in our individual consciousness about how we treat animals, ourselves and each other. The world seems to be in ruins these days, so much unresolved conflicts. The way we treat animals and have for decades is a symptom that we as a society, civilization and world are not living up to our potential as human beings who can live in harmony with each other and all the animals who inhabit the planet. If we don't stop all these "lower emotions" from directing our individual behaviours, is there any hope for the world and its conflicts?
More and more people are awakening to their true humanity which does not thrive on abandonment of animals, does not thrive on hurting self or others. Don't be part of the problem . Be part of the solution.
Do an act of kindness today even if you don't feel it.
There are angels on earth who know this truth and work tirelessly to help anyone in need. Support their efforts, please. They have the stamina to do this work like going out at 2 a.m. in bitterly cold weather to give homeless cats the only food they get for the day. They have the inner strength to go to Syria and provide aid to people caught in the civil war even if it costs them their lives.
Enough is enough, don't you think? Each person by holding this concern for our planet and each other and doing whatever small of kindness you can adds to the betterment of our world.
