The owner stated she is 7 and stated they are surrendering because she (the dog) fights.  She hasn’t shown any signs of animal aggression here, while with us.  She is about 62 pounds. officer that just added picture, said she was very nice, and sat when she was asked to. our vet also stated she was really nice.     Open for adoptions from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday. Closed to the public on Wednesdays.

    Adoptions
    All pets adopted from Floyd County Animal Control are required to be spayed or neutered by adopter, as well as vaccinated for rabies per Georgia State law. Due to funding, this is the adopter's expense. These procedures are not included in the adoption fee. Adoptions must be done in person at the facility and we accept cash, checks, Visa, MasterCard and Debit.
    Cat adoption fees: $35.00

    Rescues
    Rescue groups wishing to rescue animals both in state and out of state, must be a non-profit organization licensed by the Georgia Department of Agriculture and their application to rescue must be approved by the Floyd County Animal Control Director. For rescue groups located out of state, the group must also meet all of the licensing requirements in the state in which they reside. All rescue groups must have an application approved by the Floyd County Animal Control Director. Each rescue group must submit a copy of its shelter license and a list of approved agents to pick up animals from the Floyd County Animal Control Shelter on official GA DOA forms. Only the rescue license holder or an approved agent of the license holder may pick up animals from the shelter.The application, rescue hold request form, official GA DOA forms as well as our standard operating procedures may be found on our website:

year old male mixed breed dog, about 30 pounds. He has been through some
sort of trauma with some deep cuts and abrasions around his muzzle and a
limp in his left rear leg. Despite being in obvious pain he was very sweet
and patient with us, walked well on the leash and really seemed to
appreciate our love and attention. Little Bear will be an adorable boy when
he's all healed up, he has a thick, wavy coat and no tail possibly a
spaniel mix. Can you help this sweet boy get the medical attention he needs?

be a very grateful and faithful friend to you and your family.

type of trauma, he has an open wound under his right eye and various
superficial scrapes as well as a stiff gait in his left rear leg. Shadow
needs a little TLC but he promises to return the favor with a lifetime of
unconditional love.

love them.

Sight is not a dog’s primary sense and dogs no matter what degree of diminished vision or hearing or both, including total loss of both, go on living full lives in safe and secure homes. After a while they and you forget that there is an issue. I know such a dog and he is a sheer joy!!! They adapt amazingly well, do enjoy and do have a great quality of life and are the same characters, the same loving dogs, if not more so, as their sighted and hearing peers. This sweet pup will be no different!!!

Sookie was found by animal control with a piece of her tie out still hanging from her collar, this precious girl luckily broke free. She is a Cane Corso and is only about 2 years old. Sookie has a heart of gold even though it's quite obvious that someone has broken her heart by treating her so badly. This girl is a special one, I don't want to think about what she has been through obviously not being fed, living in the cold on a tie out, with an injury at that.  If anyone can help this sweet, innocent girl out please let me know.
