Taj is a 1 ½ year old shepherd/terrier mix. She was found as a stray. Taj has been at our shelter since September 14, 2012, and she has grown tired of shelter life. She has hung on until recently, but Taj is rapidly deteriorating as of late and needs to get out of the shelter soon. We are hoping to find a rescue that sees how wonderful this sweet girl is and is willing to take her out of our shelter environment.
Taj is a good girl who loves to run; she would love some regular exercise instead of the 2 to 3 times per week maximum that she gets outside at the shelter. She is very observant and likes to people and dog watch from our dog run. She loves belly rubs, can sit for treats and loves to go on walks. She is extremely interested in other dogs and always tries to meet them after she spots the dogs out with shelter volunteers. She has very soulful eyes and a sweet disposition. She is a herding dog that would do best with regular physical and mental stimulation. To see Taj in action, please visit www.youtube.com/fotn has to watch her videos.
Taj would be transferred spayed and fully vetted with current vaccinations at no cost to the rescue. She would also have flea preventative applied before transfer. If she will be living with other dogs in her foster home, they would have to meet before transport.

"We have changed the fact that Nash County Animal Control Shelter killed over 200 pets a month when we started. Sad to say, at the beginning 60% of the pets were killed in the gas chamber. They did some humane injections, for babies and pregnant moms (plus a few others). We worked to eliminate the gas chamber, changing the killing to humane injection (not heart stick). The gas chamber has not been used on dogs or cats since January 2013! Our goal is to NOT have adoptable pets killed by ANY method!"
