"Officer Gil Fones is a 27-year veteran of the Montgomery County Police Department, having spent the past 20 years as a K-9 handler and trainer. Recently, his K-9 partner Chip was taken away from him without explanation. Initially, Gil was told that Chip was going to be retired and that he would be able to adopt him and keep him as a pet -- a standard practice for retired K‑9's. But then suddenly, Officer Fones was informed that he could not adopt Chip and that the department was either going to euthanize Chip or move him to a location outside the county"

9/11/15 Northeast Animal Shelter Salem MA Takes in Many Dogs From the South and All Across the U.S. Please Help Them With Nellie the Puppy's Medical Needs

Dear Pet Lover,
"Nellie is a sweet little puppy, but at just 3 months old she has already had a tough life. After Nellie made the trip from Georgia, along with her 6 brothers and sisters, Northeast Animal Shelter's vet noticed an unusual sound from her heart — and immediately scheduled an appointment with a cardiac specialist.
We hoped for the best, but the specialist confirmed that this little pup has a life-threatening heart defect that is restricting the flow of blood through her heart. If untreated, Nellie could succumb to heart failure in as little as 2 years.
Please donate now to help us give Nellie the surgery and ongoing attention she needs to live a happy life.
