We are an independent volunteer organization who photograph and promote the pets at the local government Animal Control facility and try to find them adopters or Rescues. 3/02/13 Nashville N.C. Needs Rescue Help and Adopters. Small Animal Shelter KILLS Many Dogs and Cats Who NO ONE COMES For in the Gas Chamber. How do they choose the cats and dogs WHO WILL DIE in the GAS CHAMBER? Do They Have A Choice or Is It Always About MONEY? Will an OLDER CAT or DOG SUFFER LESS IN THE GAS CHAMBER? This is WHAT IS ALLOWED TO BE DONE TO INNOCENT ANIMALS.
I imagine the shelter does its best (it is the government that makes the how animals are euthed decisions, I believe) but it isn't okay to still use Gas Chambers. Read the words carefully. Let them sink into your mind. Innocent Dogs and Cats are placed in a GAS CHAMBER and the GAS is TURNED ON. Even dogs who attack people and are condemned to euth are often given an easier death by injection. If this info is wrong, sorry but here is where I found it.

Owner said he is very friendly cat who was never out of owner's apartment according to link below. He was terrified at the fake shelter Cats get stressed at these places but are often labeled aggressive because evidently the staff has no idea about animal behaviour or maybe they don't care because what they seem to do is falsely label many stressed out animals who know this is an awful scary place. Mayor Blomberg is out telling people what they can eat or not eat. Is he doing anything about his poorly run animal shelters in NYC? I don't know. Is he?

This is considered a "fake adoption" hold and that is how animals fall through the cracks and end up being killed."

"The reality is that the Nash County Animal Shelter is EXTREMELY small. Only 16 dog kennels and only a few cat cages. Sad to say, they still also use the gas chamber. Currently 39% of the pets are PTS by humane injection, including babies under 4 months and pregnant animals. We wish for it to be 100% but more than that, we don't want any adoptable animal killed by any method."
