"Blessing is a sweet, shy older beagle who LOVES to play with other dogs…she's the perfect mix of calm & fun.  Since she is so shy she will need to be placed with at least one other dog.  This sweet girl had a rough start in life and she so deserves the fairytale ending.  A quiet life with some doggy friends to hang out with is what Miss Blessing would love...."

As we drove to the vets office where she will be once again boarded, she saw a person that resembled her foster and he...r tail began to wag until she realized it wasn't her beloved person and she laid down to sulk. 10/12/15 Loveable Adoptable Dogs Killed Everyday. Look at the Dogs New York City Animal Control Killed. We Must All Be Aware of the Animals Whose Lives Were Shortened by A System That Many Times Does Not Hold Irresponsible Pet Owners Accountable. Happy Loving Dogs and Cats are Killed Everyday. What Can We do About It? I Don't Know. Do You?

I won't keep posting about dogs that were not given a chance at life. I just want people to see what happens when you drop animals off at kill shelters. I believe all these killings on some level destroy the people who do this day in and day out. Perhaps they believe these animals are going to a better place. They don't know this. What they do is take the life of dogs who want to live.  The bottom line is society does not require responsible care and ownership of animals.  Animals are considered property.

"KILLED - 9/8/2015  Dog with great behaviour evaluation.

Do you like belly rubs and ball games? Then say hello to your new BFF, Picasso has you covered! 10/12/15 Cats and Kittens on NYC AC Kill List for Today. Look at their Faces. Do These Cats and Kittens Deserve To Have Their Lives Taken Because Many in Our Society Have No Regard For Life ( Their Own and Others)? Honestly Doesn't All This Killing Of Shelter Cats and Dogs Just Get To You?. A few of These Cats are On the kill list Because Owners Had Allergies or Personal Problems. It is like Putting Bambi on the To Be Destroyed List. Couldn't the Owner At Least Find a No Kill Shelter. How Can They Live With Themselves Knowing Their Pet Could Be or Was Killed Because of Their Actions? I Don't Think the Taxpayers of NYC Should Be Required To Pay FOr Murdering a Pet Whose Owner Just Dumps Them. People. Aren't You Fed Up?

Help Desk contact info on link
 http://nycdogs.urgentpodr.org/urgent-dogs-help-desk-form/

Can you imagine being on a TO BE DESTROYED LIST?  I hate that title but it is what it is. That is what happens to many shelter dogs and cats for many reasons. If you live in NYC ( check out foster and adopter rules- I think that you can adopt if you are from the northeast) Please help a dog or cat who is about to be "DESTROYED." Save a waggy tail life or a  meower that only wants love and safety. Human beings can do so much more for these animals than take their lives. Open your home to a dog or cat that truly needs you.

"Urgent Pets on Death Row (Urgent) is an all-volunteer, 501c3 charity, created in 2010, to advocate for the thousands of adoptable dogs and cats that are needlessly killed each year by Animal Care & Control of New York City (ACC). Urgent was created to help advocate for NYC’s Death Row dogs and cats."

10/5/15 Winter is Coming. Help Dogs Who Are Outside With No Shelter.

"Cold Weather is Coming: Here’s One Way to Help Outdoor Dogs

We’ve all witnessed dogs left to the elements during the cold winter months. You can allow frustration, anger, and a sense of helplessness to drag you down. Or, you can do something positive. The topic of outdoor dogs is a thorny one to be sure. Families struggle with a variety of issues from allergies to ignorance, and you’re never going to convince every last dog owner to see things your way. But, that doesn’t mean groups like Fences For Fido aren’t making a difference."

10/02/15 October is National Adopt a Shelter Dog Month- Time to Go to Your local Shelter and Adopt Your New Best Friend and Family Member. Read Article on Animal Planet. Remember Senior Dogs and Special Needs Dogs Need You Too.

 From Animal Planet

"Happy Adopt a Shelter Dog Month!

It's October 1, which marks the beginning of Adopt a Shelter Dog Month! Every year, approximately 3.9 million dogs enter shelters and only 35% are adopted (statistics from the ASPCA). So if you're considering bringing a dog into your life, check your local shelter instead of a breeder.
You should also consider adopting an older dog or a special needs dog, as they are the least likely to be adopted. There are concerns about the dog's life span or quality of life, but with the examples below you'll see that these dogs live amazing lives and love with their whole hearts. These dogs have inspired people around the world and show that all dogs deserve a chance at a forever home." Read rest
