UPDATE 7/18 .7/16/10 Killing Pregnant Cats and Dogs Just When They are Ready To Give Birth Is a Crime in My Opinion

 This video of  a pregnant cat who is ON THE EUTH LIST should  make everyone ashamed at how we treat shelter animals.If they give her the needle will it be at the same time the kittens are about to be born? This is such a vile action. I understand the reasoning. Kill the cat so there will be no more kittens to take up space in the shelter.  Perhaps they have waited so long hoping she will get rescued. Well if she doesn't DON'T KILL HER. Someday people will look back at this and be horrified at their own cruelty. I hope this cat gets rescued.
 These animals are given expiration dates. It is truly disturbing. They are not a can of soup. Los Angeles has just hired a humane  director for their shelter system. Perhaps shelter managers need to read about the programs she implemented at the Seattle Humane Society  before she came to LA to see that many more animals CAN BE SAVED. Killing a pregnant cat who is ready to pop doesn't seem like a good thing to do for one's own soul.

 SHE did get to have her babies. Thank you to whoever made the decision to let her give birth. Now she and her babies  are URGENT and need homes and or rescue or they will get euthed.
