He came into the shelter as a stray and was covered with ticks to the point where he was very lethargic, he was also very skinny in the back end. We took him to the vet the very next day to have him checked out and treated for all the ticks. Turns out at some point he was hit by a car and never seen by a vet. Just to be sure we also had him tested for any tick carrying diseases luckily (no pun intended) those and his HW test all came back negitive. Even though Lucky has had and UN lucky start in his short life he it doesn't seem to affect him. His old injury does not slow him down at all and our vet seems to think it can be repaired with surgery. He is about 8 months old and weights about 40 lbs we think he is a purebred black lab. Lucky arrived at the shelter on or around 5/27/08 and has received his first round of DHLPP and Bordatella and will be due for his second DHLPP shot on 6/10/08. They are located directly between Cleveland, OH and Pittsburgh, PA. "We are in DESPERATE need of SHORT-TERM FOSTERS for dogs awaiting transport to rescues. Foster time for dogs going to rescue is generally only 1 to 3 weeks. Foster time for dogs waiting to find their forever home may take a little longer. Foster homes provide temporary shelter, food and love." Canine Crusaders provides necessary vetting. The cost of food and toys is up to the foster. Prerequisites such as fenced yard, experience, etc., may depend on the type of dog to be fostered.
